Vehicle Detail

1979 International Scout II Rallye Package 50,800 original miles Have factory metal top NOS Kayline black soft top installed ($1600 value), and a Kayline Bimini top that's tan in color. Kayline are the best soft tops for Scouts and are no longer made New window felts Roll bar (not installed) 345ci V8 engine New belts on engine New Flowmaster 40's dual exhaust Miminal to no rust, golf ball size of surface rust on the bed rail that was surface and repaired years ago in good shape and not visible, small bubble in metal top below side window, everything else solid! Automatic transmission Warn lockout hubs 3 gas tanks, main and two side saddle tanks; I have only used the main tank, the side saddles appear to be in good shape A/C little noisy at times but works and blows cold air Interior is original and in nice condition. The retro plaid upholstery is in great original shape There is one small 1/8" hole in the passenger seat, very minor and repairable. Also, there are a few scratches and small tears in the pleather that can be easily repaired Has factory mag wheels, for spare too! Tires in good shape This Scout is in nice shape, has almost every factory option available. I bought it about four years ago from an elderly man in San Antonio, Texas who said he had the Scout since new and kept it at his lake house. It has 50,800 original miles. I am no mechanic and I have no way to verify the mileage, but after removing all the fishing pole holders, CB radio stuff, and aftermarket old timer stuff I believe what he told me. The Scout was driven 660 miles to my home without incident. I had plans to totally restore her but I got busy with other interests. I have only driven the Scout probably 400 miles since I bought it. It's been kept in my barn and driven about once a month. I have never driven it on snowy or salty roads. I have just taken the Scout to my mechanic and had him give it a tune-up. He replaced the starter solenoid, checked out the brakes, did a tuneup, Scout runs great. It will go down the highway at 75 all day long with plenty of power to spare. It drives surprisingly well but it is a 4x4, so it's a little stiff but a nice drive. Has the hard to find Rallye package Replaced seal gaskets for top Carpeting is orange and in good shape Factory radio replaced and small speakers installed in doors (doesn't work) Factory snaps in grill for factory grill cover (Rare) Factory extended mirror mounts Map light If buyer wants the hard top on I will need a couple of days to get that done Body 9/10 few small dings here and there, but mostly straight Paint 7/10 Some paint has chipped off the grill, Hood has been repainted at some time, thin spot on metal top exposing primer, Decals have cracks in them Interior 8.5/10 Cloth seats 9/10 one small 1/8" hole in passenger seat, easily repaired, a few pokes and small tears on the pleather part of the seats, not noticible and easy repair, NO cracks in the dash pad Tilt steering Electric clock not working (may just be disconnected) Russet upholstery Scout factory custom interior Deluxe exterior trim package Factory rear floor mat in good shape I have described this Scout to the best of my ability. I am not a mechanic or body man. You may see the Scout and even take a test drive at any time prior to the end of the sale. Although this Scout is beautiful and well maintained it is still thirty-two years old and is therefore being sold AS IS without warranty implied or expressed. If you really want a quality Scout, don't buy a rusty torn up piece junk normally offered and have to spend thousands and take years to get it in descent shape Buy this one! Drive it now! Drive it as is or put on new paint and decals and you won't take a back seat to any others. any money you put in to this one will only add to it's value. Thanks for bidding!
