1995 Pontiac Bonneville. Automatic transmission, 3.8L 3800 V6 engine, 4 door, power everything. 130,232 total miles. This was my son's car. He is currently in school and cannot afford to maintain the insurance and maintanance, so it now must be sold. I will list both the good things about the car, as well as the known maintanance issues that will need to be tended to by the buyer. The good things about this car are as follow: Very strong and dependable 3.8L engine. Runs very well and gets about 20 mpg with local driving. All bodywork is in very good condition, only a couple of small minor areas of rust. No large dents anywhere. Interior is in very good condition but will need a good cleaning. No holes in carpeting either. All windows are good and work fine. Heater works fine. All tires are fair and have some usable miles left before they need to be replaced. Transmission performs as it should, no known issues. Headlights, tailights, turn signals and brake lights all work fine. No check engine light issues. The known maintanance issues that will need to be addressed: All shocks need to be replaced, as it is a very spongy ride. Possibly the ball joints need to be serviced, as there are some creaking noises during turns, but this is only my best guess. Exhaust system seems to be fairly solid but there appear to be several holes near the muffler and a few other areas. Worst case is that the exhaust system needs repair or replacement. Valve cover gasket is leaking and allows oil to leak onto the exhaust manifold, which creates some smoke. Our mechanic told us that this should be replaced, but my son drove it anyway and I kept a close watch on the oil levels just in case. At night the dashbord lights will sometimes not come on until the wires beneath the steering column are tapped by hand. All seats are good but really should be properly cleaned, as it was driven by a teenager. The state inspection sticker is currently overdue, so the new owner will need to have it inspected after the exhaust and shocks have been repaired.Some sun fading of the exterior paint on the hood, roof and trunk is also present. This could be a very sound and dependable for someone able to tend to the issues mentioned.
