Up for auction is a 1967 MGB GT Special. I am selling this car because my wife just gave birth to our first child and I need the money to pay for hospital bills and the incredible amount of diapers that a baby goes through. I bought this car 4 years ago and for at least 3 of the past four years it has been a daily driver. I converted it to aluminum wheels from the original wire wheels. It now has a holley red fuel pump. It has a set of 1-3/4" SUs. It has SPAX shocks on the rear. I also installed an Autometer speedometer and tachometer. The brakes are really good and so is the clutch. I rebuilt the front end when I first bought the car. The head was rebuilt last year. It has a pair of Miata seats in it. I also converted it to a GM one wire alternator for reliability. I have the original gauges and the original generator to go with the car. I also have a set of rear lever arm shocks if interested to replace the spax tube shocks. The car has a standard 4 speed non-overdrive transmission. It also has Monza exhaust. All the glass is good, and the interior is probably a 5.5 out of 10. The tires still have 75 tread left. The rims are 14" Panasports. Tires are 195/60r14. I do not have a spare for the car. The car also has a new fuel tank. The door sills and floor pans in this car are in great shape ,as you can see in the pictures, with no rust. Please see the pictures below. The car is registered, inspected and insured. I am not for sure how many miles are on the car. The speedometer was broke when I bought it. I have probably put 30K on it over the last 4 years. The bad is that as of right now the horn and fuel gauge are not working. From my checking, it appears the fuel sending unit is out. As for the horns, they may start working tomorrow when I get in it. The car does need a paint job and some body work. From what I can tell the car has been painted before, but I believe it has always been black. The body is very straight except for a few dents on the drivers side. The paint on the car right now is cracking. I had it checked for bondo, and we could not find any. There is no place on this car were a magnet would not stick. I painted the red stripes on there to make the car visible for all the interstate driving it was getting. I have tried to show in the pictures below all the bad spots on the car body. As you can see, they are all on the surface. A good paint job and a little body work and this car would look great. The picture with my finger in it is of a spot on the hood. The car is a great car and I hate to sell it, but family comes first. I am very confidant in this car and would jump in it tomorrow and drive anywhere in the US without hesitation. The car is located in Temple, TX. I require a $500 deposit through paypal within 48 hours of the sale. I am more than happy to help load the car, if shipping is required. To sum it all up again. This car is not a show car, but a very dependable daily driver. The drive train is very sound on this car. One of the pictures below is of the oil pressure and water temp gauge. This picture was taken with the car at idle on a 90deg Texas day. The motor is very strong. With a little body work, this could be a beautiful car.
