Vehicle Detail
1970 El Camino 454 SS, not sure if it's a real SS, but it has all of the badging, steering wheel, 12 bolt rear, round gauge dash, etc...so you decide and bid accordingly. It has a strong running 454. The engine and engine compartment are beautifully detailed as you can see in the pictures. A lot of time and attention went into making it look nice without being too much. The car, truck, or whatever you call it is equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, and factory air conditioning. While most of the components are still on the car (the evaporator housing, condensor, drier, dash vents, etc. are still there, but the compressor wasn't re-installed after it was painted. It, along with most, if not all, of the mounting brackets are painted and there too), It will still need to be assembled and tested. I also have the hose assembly that goes with it, even though I was going to buy new ones for appearance sake. The steering, brakes and suspension are all very nice, and the transmission shifts perfectly. The 12 bolt rear is quiet and doesn't leak. It was hard to get a picture of it without a lift, but I tried to take one to show the stainless exhaust and mufflers. No frame issues either...just a good old solid car looking for a new owner. The initerior is very nice. The bucket seats and console are in excellent condition, and the new carpet fits great. The door panels and headliner are new also. There isn't a radio, and the dash isn't cut up for one. The dash lights, fuel gauge, horn, and wipers don't work. Something must have been left off when the car was being reassembled. Might be as simple as a fuse or disconnected wire, might be a little more. It can't be much since it's all there. The body and paint are very nice as you see in the photos, but like every car...nothing is perfect. It has a very nice steel cowl hood. There isn't anything out of the ordinary for a very nice, driver quality 41 year old car. Underneath the car is dry and clean. The stainless trim is all intact and excellent, and the chrome bumpers are nice, but could stand a rechrome if you're looking to take the car to the next level. The glass is all very nice and the windows roll up and down nicely. The drivers door locks and unlocks with the key, but the passenger door doesn't. I haven't looked to see why. The inside of the bed is perfect --- no dimples, bubbles, or holes. It has a spray on bedliner, so it should look that way forever. The Goodyear white letter tires have plenty of tread, and the Cragar SS wheels look good, but they do have surface rust and a little peeling here and there. I didn't lose any sleep over them since most people put on different wheels anyway. Speaking of that, I do have a set of 7 inch Chevy Rally wheels with new tires if you prefer, or a set of Coys 18"s and 20"s for an extra fee. Overall, it's a great car that is fairly priced. This car is being listed to be sold, and I reserve the right to end the auction early in the event someone makes me an offer I can't pass up. If you are a serious buyer, please don't wait until the end of the auction to bid. Call, text, or email me to ask anything you want. I have 5 cars ( 1967 Camaro coupe---LT-1 / 6 speed, 1968 Camaro Convertible---350 / 4 speed, 1969 Chevelle coupe---396 / 4 speed, The 1970 El Camino you see here, and a 1971 Chevelle coupe---350 / 4 speed) that will be listed on ebay that I want to sell before Thanksgiving. Whatever is left will be taken to Daytona and sold at the Turkey Rod Run. Please look at my other auctions if you're looking for classic muscle cars. 941-740-2277 or northshorebill@aol.com .
