This auction is for all three (3) replicas of the 1901 / 1903 Curved dash "Merry Olds" that are part of an estate. Please do not ask us to break up the set. Here's their story: They were made by American Air Products in Ft. Lauderdale in 1958. In 1962 they were purchased from Nickey Chevrolet and moved to a private garage. One of them (the red one with the top) was used used a few times and out of the 3 vehicles this one needs the most TLC. The remaining two (another red and a black roadster) have never had gas in them, do not have tops and have sat in this garage since 1962. We are not collectors or mechanics, what we know is based on family history or paperwork. On the receipts from Nickey's it states that they are all 1903 but on the original titles it states that one of them is a 1901 and two of them are a 1903. They were manufactured in 1958. They are approximately 93" long with a 66" wheel base, 1 cylinder and 4 Horsepower. They are almost full size with the exception of the wheels/tires which are bicycle size. The condition of these are very sad. They do not run, the tires are flat, and would have to be trailered or trucked. You can see by the pictures that the paint is coming off the first one (they are made of wood so it can be easily sanded and repainted). The other two also have paint damage and are missing their side lights (brass lamps). All of the tires are original so they have to be replaced along with any other rubber components. There is also evidence that the battery acid is leaking out of them. The seats have a couple of tears in them, but they could easily be recovered. They are being sold "as is". They are for LOCAL PICK-UP ONLY (or you can arrange to have them transported) and are located on the Northwest side of Chicago (near Harlem and the Kennedy Expressway). The tire skates (dollies) are not included in the auction. If you have any questions please give us 24 to 48 hours to reply as they are off site. They would have to be moved no later than 12/1.
