2006 Touareg V10 TDI for sale by original owner. This is the luxury/tow package with GPS navigation, tow hitch, roof rack, 6 CD changer. Also includes the usual leather seats, individually controlled climate controls, heated seats, sun roof, twin turbo charged V10 diesel engine, etc. The car has never been in an accident and is in excellent condition. It will need new tires and the turn indicator does not return automatically after a turn. New tires are about $1200 and a new turn indicator is about $500. It has all required services at Volkswagen of Santa Monica and is scheduled for another at 80,000. There are about 9 months left on a full warranty by Volkswagen on the engine, which was replaced at about 74,000 miles. There never was a performance problem with the original engine, but I complained repeatedly about a whining engine noise which had bothered me since the car was new. A Volkswagen technician from Germany finally identified the probable problem as a faulty bearing. Volkswagen of Santa Monica decided that it would not make sense to disassemble the engine, since the faulty bearing would be difficult to identify, and they agreed to replace the engine with a new one, even though mine was out of warranty, if I would pay for the labor. I have all receipts for this, and for all services. The entire engine, was replaced, including oil and water pumps. I replaced the floor mats with new heavy rubber mats for the Porsche Cayenne, otherwise everything is stock. Volkswagen Credit still holds the title to the car.
