1992 Cadillac Brougham d'Elegance Astro Roof BUILD DATE: 09.18.1991 Once again... meet Irene.  The winning bidder of last auction was kind enough to cancel the transaction when he couldn't pay, but here's the new deal: If you have 0 feedback, I will cancel your bid unless you contact me first. It's just that simple Getting back to Irene: She's a beautiful example of the last-of-the-breed Brougham (formerly Fleetwood Brougham) body style that remained nearly unchanged in the twelve year run (1980 - 1992).  She's a rare bird - 1 of 394 with the desirable Astro Roof. Lovingly cared for and garaged by all her owners, she's ready for a new family to enjoy and drive her.  Don't forget to watch the video of her at the bottom of the page below the pictures! MECHANICAL Let's start with this: EVERYTHING WORKS.  From the Astro Roof to the Power Seats to the Twilight Sentinel - everything works exactly as it should.  The 5.0 liter V8 starts and runs without issue - just passed texas state emissions test without a problem (documentation included). She leaks no fluids whatsoever (see pictures of the underside - it's completely dry). Recent tune-up included all sensors (O2, intake temp, intake charge temp, coolant temp) new air filter, re-breather filter and coolant flush. She runs synthetic oil with a Wix filter and it's changed every 3k miles (was just changed 50 miles ago). The transmission shifts smoothly and effortlessly and the fluid is clean and doesn't smell. New front shocks were fitted when the tires were replaced 3k miles ago (they have a lifetime balance and rotation warranty from Discount Tire).  She's straight and smooth down the road - check the video at the bottom for start-up and drive.  The A/C has been converted to r134 and will blow sub 50 degree temperatures on even the hottest texas days (and yes, the auto climate control works as it should with no issues).  Steering is tight (well, as tight as a 5000lb car will allow) and she stops true and straight with no squealing or grinding. EXTERIOR Get this: All the filler pieces are ORIGINAL  Rear bumper fillers are flawless and fit like they should (unlike the reproduction fiberglass pieces that are generally poor in quality and fit). In the pictures, you will note that the rear license plate filler has a couple of cracks, but is fully intact. The paint is original and shines like new, but is not without a few chips here and there (there's a key-mark on the driver's side, a scratch on the trunk-lid, a small area of what appears to be rust bubbling up on the drivers door just above the bottom paneling - see see pictures outlining the flaws at the bottom of the picture set).  The vinyl roof is original and in exceptionally nice condition with no peeling, tearing and absolutely no signs of rust underneath. The Astro Roof works flawlessly, doesn't leak and is whisper quiet even at highway speeds (see video). I personally checked all the drain lines to make sure they were still intact.  All lights function including the fiber-optic operated tell-tale lights for the headlights, taillights and key hole lights.  The passenger side opera lamp recently started working intermittently and I havent had a chance to diagnose it (most likely the power source). Chrome is near to flawless and the bumper guards are pristine with the exception of a dime sized area on the front passenger side that is missing the silver paint (see pictures).  Grill is perfect as is the front hood ornament.  Rear ornament is faded, but very presentable. INTERIOR The d'Elegance interior is in excellent condition with only a few signs of wear on the driver's seat (no torn seams).  The carpet is virtually stain free and the headliner has been redone and is in excellent shape.  All interior lighting works and all door panels are near to flawless.  Power seats work without issue and the dashboard is completely crack free.  Interior chrome shows a little age in places (see pictures) but shows very well.  Digital cluster works well and radio sounds great (even by today's standards).  Auto-dimming review mirror works surprisingly well as does the rear window defogger. All windows go up and down with ease and both power mirrors work. Steering wheel leather has some hairline cracking at the 12 o'clock position, but is quite nice. Tilt works and is nice and tight. Also included is the original owner's manual plus gold keys and the gold key wallet card.
