It was the turbo suspension, breaks, interior and many other features of the turbo. These cars are highly sought after among the porsche community because a lot of people love the handling and looks of a turbo but without the upkeep and expense. The pin drop response of these motors is also something we all love. The turbos while are fun, are incredibly slow until the lagged boost comes on. This was porsches response to the people who wanted the pin drop fast response and body of the turbo back in the day. Its too bad they made so few of these cars. THE NOT QUITE PERFECT THINGS: - 2-3 tiny rock chips (most of these cars have dozens) - hairline scratch on right rear - insulation in motor compartment sagging a bit (as usual) - typical 915 transmission 1st gear grind if ya try to slam it in first too fast (very common) MY PERSONAL THOUGHTS ON THIS CAR AS A PCA MEMBER: This is a wonderfully preserved original stock car. No upgrades were done to this car to ruin its value. We would love to keep this car but we have bigger dreams we are trying to achieve currently. (We would like a slantnose someday, selling most of our toys to get one) We would like to say that this car is definitely something special. All of its owners were meticulous and did things right. If a bulb went out, it was replaced with Porsche and NOT the autozone equivalent. Its easy to see the respect that was given to this car, and anyone who ends up will im sure will baby it as others did. Its a dream to drive and the RARE color combo is something beautiful to look at. Most m491s came in black, red or white....for us and other Porsche people...its always nice to see a rare car and a rarer color. This is a great opportunity for someone to own a great car. RECENT SERVICE: - Car just had the clutch done at 56k and all the major service recommended at that time. - Basic service and oil change and look over done last week.
