Vehicle Detail

This collectors car does run and drive and requires minimal restoration to bring it back to show room condition. I am the second owner of this vehicle. My dad and I purchased it in 1988 when it was less than a year old and only had a few thousand miles on it. We purchased the car from the Oldsmobile dealership in High Point NC.When I reached the ripe old age of 24 I garaged it at my parents home. Last year I brought it to my house and placed it in my garage while I went over it. Fortunately, it cranked on about the 4th attempt. The tires had gone bad and I got a deal on some regal rims with good tires to be able to drive it around. I still have the original mags that came on the car but they are loosing their luster and the chrome needs to be redone to have show quality appeal. The hood scoop that goes on the hood is for looks and nonfunctional, however mine blew off traveling down the highway in 1992 while cruising at about 70mph. The scoop was just siliconed in place and once a small amount of air worked its way under the scoop the whole thing blew off. The fin on the back has two outside end pieces that are in the trunk, this happened from my girlfriend at the time shutting the trunk and using the outside corners to push down on rather than the middle body of the lid. The top of the car received a bad coat from the factory, they did have a recall to repaint but I was never notified and I'm sure I missed the boat on that but the sides of the car are fine just a bad clear coat in production that effects the hood-top & trunk. There are a few cosmetic issues with the interior. * New shift handle is needed as the plastic mechanism that hold it on gave way. *Seat belts have frayed area due to plastic seat release handle coming off allowing metal shaft to rub the belts-driver side effected more by this. *Rear view mirror turned loose. * Brushed chrome radio knob cover needs to be glued back. *Plaque on console indicating #6 of 400 needs polishing. *Windshield needs to be reset-not replaced-the windshield is fine but has a small area that apparently has lost it's seal and allows water to slightly enter and drip, I discovered this when I parked the car outside while I was working in the garage and it rained revealing this issue, since then it has not been subjected to the environment. I have noticed that one of the motor mounts is a little weak and 3 of the freeze plugs look slightly corroded and should be replaced relatively soon to prevent any unwanted issues. This car has been the best car ever, powered by a 307 4 barrel. ******* I would keep it because it truly has been a constant part in my life the last 22yrs but I'm currently creating funding for a business plan that will create much needed employment for the local community and for this reason alone I'm willing to turn loose of it. The reserve is relatively low for the car and I am eager to gather as much funding as possible for starting up this new venture. ***I don't know if this will show on a carfax or not but I believe in being honest about things so I must let potential customers know that when I was 19 I did have a minor accident where I actually, as embarrassing as it is, ran into my college's sign and body repairs were made at the dealership where we originally purchased the car. The damaged occurred to the driver fender and door.*** Last minute thought----The air and compressor work fine but I have not recharged the system, and a hanger needs replacing on the exhaust which is causing it to hang a little in the back. ******Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer, I will help in the coordination of shipping but cost and overall task of moving or picking the car up is the buyers responsibility.
