Beautifully Restored Rare Find Steeped in California History This wonderful 1947 Ford 7GC half ton pickup has a charming history. In 1947 the California Farm Bureau Federation began offering insurance to farmer's and their families; this truck was part of that campaign. It still bears the original Farm Bureau window stickers! After a very brief service record it was retired and sold to "Uncle Fred", who preserved the truck. Fred held onto the truck until his death in 1977, when it was passed on to his nephew, Patrick. Pat went to work restoring the truck, keeping a highly detailed journal, which comes with the truck. The time came when Pat was no longer able to drive or enjoy the truck and that's when I purchased it. This adorable old truck has more than a half ton of character! The well-documented history in California adds to its depth. I felt strongly about restoring it to as close to stock as possible with the only exceptions being the electric fuel pump (for reliability and convenience), the wood truck bed, and the two-tone dash and upgraded interior (carpet, insulation, upholstered panels- no holes were drilled in the truck!) My vision was to embrace the warm nostalgia of this truck while adding a touch of class and comfort. This amazing old truck is a part of Californian and American history. It has been painstakingly restored to it's original glory with a few upgrades for your convenience, safety, and comfort. It starts up every time, runs and drives great.
