I have a 1987 Jeep Comanche that I think I want to sell. I bought this Jeep about a year ago and have worked on restoring it every since. The only reason for selling is a change of plans. This was basicaly a one owner Comanche that was in as nice original condition as I have seen. Never off road and was bought new by an elderly lady. It is and always has been a southern Georgia Comanche so it is 100% original rust free and accident free. The interior is original and near perfect. I removed the interior, cleaned the carpets and reinstalled. Also redyed the plastic parts. There is one seperation on the drivers seat from getting in and out but other wise real nice. 4 new Bose factory size speakers. New headliner. I have the radio but had plans of a new one so it has not been reinstalled yet. Still has the original floor mat drivers side. The paint finish was in pretty good shape but was faded and the clear coat was fading. The Jeep was totally diasembled and the body was stripped to bear metal, primed and repainted with base coat clear coat. The chassis was power washed, cleaned and left original. I removed the bed so the back of the bed and back of cab was painted. Also removed the doors and fenders so there is no over spray or dead spots. The hood and tailgate was also refinished but is not installed in the photos. What you see on the chassis is the original factory finish. This is the factory roll bar which was stripped and refinished. The bumpers were stripped and refinished also. The Cherokee was originally a 2.5 4 cyl. The engine had a cracked block so it was removed. Still has the original transmission and transfer case which are both in good condition. 4 wheel drive works in all positions. Factory A/C, power steering and brakes. My first intension was to replace with another 4 cyl. then changed and decided on a 4.0 inline 6 and even considered a small block Chevy engine. This is where I stopped. I thought too long. You can put what ever in at this point. It would take very little to complete and have a very very nice original Comanche. I did replace the odometer with a new one so it shows 0 miles. I do have a clear Georgia title in hand. The wheel flares have been cleaned and refinished with black flex paint. Like I said the Jeep is 100% rust free and while disasembleing the Comanche, and once the bolts were lossened you could take most of them out by hand. The remaining screws and hardware have been cleaned and stored seperately. The tires are Michelins and not new but has plenty of life left. If you want a Comanche and can finish it you will have one of the best ones out there. This could easily be a $7500.00 Jeep.
