Vehicle Detail
2nd Owner 1981 Mercedes 300SD Purchased in 2001 from original owner. 338,218 miles on chassis. 130,000 miles on engine rebuild. Still lots of mileage left on this professionally rebuilt motor. Motor was rebuilt in 2004 at 200,000 miles. My daily driver for nearly 10 years now, this car runs perfect and strong. Always maintained with faithful oil changes every 1500 to 2000 miles! I would not think twice about hopping in this car and driving across the country at the drop of a hat! This car needs some TLC: a paint job, and the usual interior plastic parts that break with age. Mechanically, the car is in great shape, a true runner. Cosmetically, a number of nickel & dime things need attention. Added upgraded wheels and tires, front-end slightly lowered. I am seeking a buyer who loves M-B and is looking for a great restoration grade car. Everything is here on this automobile. I just don't have the time anymore to put into upkeep and restoration. Paypal only. Payment is required before pickup. On Oct-07-11 at 05:45:49 PDT, seller added the following information: Mechanically and electrically, this car is in great shape and is a runner. I've faithfully changed the oil every 1500 to 2000 miles for the life of this motor. The tranny is strong and doesn't slip; it shifts solidly. This car was my daily driver for the last 10 years. I will be driving it today (10/6), in fact! Cosmetically, it needs a lot of TLC. It needs a paint job; the top surfaces are oxidized through the clear, and the rear passenger door is blemished. The car is 99% rust free. What little rust there is can be easily dealt with while repainting. Interior wise, the car also needs a lot of TLC. The usual plastic parts around the door handles and switches are getting old and cracked. The driver's seat is thrashed and needs recovered/rebuilt or replaced. The rear seat has a small tear in the leather on the passenger side. The dashboard has one crack in it near the front passenger side speaker. I cannot think of anything else to report at this time! Thanks! On Oct-07-11 at 05:48:22 PDT, seller added the following information: Also, 15,000 miles ago all of the shock absorbers and front suspension bushings and linkages (tie rods, bushings, etc.) were replaced. the suspension is like new!
