OVER 100 PICS ---> Follow link http://s871.photobucket.com/albums/ab275/lmojay/FIREBIRD%201988/?start=all Hi there, Selling my 1988 Firebird only to finance buying another Corvette. Only 4 owners. I originally bought the car from the 2nd owner in 2004, sold it locally, and bought it back about 2 months ago for sentimental value. The 2nd owner replaced the factory 305 with a crate 350 at 70k miles. I bought it through Ebay in 2004 and drove it from Philadelphia to San Diego with out a hitch. Sold it at around 86k miles and just bought it back from the same person at around 97k miles. I've been driving it to work 40 miles each way since. The car drives well, no engine light, no overheating, brakes fine and looks really nice. I have plenty of receipts dating a few years, including the engine replacement and other maintenance records. Sale is final since I am not a dealer but feel free to ask questions and check out my feedback. I can be contacted at 619-990-8990. Deposit of $250 is non-refundable since there are too many flakes out there and the remainder balance is due within 5 working days after sale. Deposit via Paypal and balance with cash or wire transfer in order to release the car. I will assist in meeting with shipper but it's the buyer's responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping. The car has new catalytic converter and Corvette wheels and tires. The car had factory WS6 handling options including the 16" wheels. Currently registered until Oct 2012 in CA. Work done in the last 2 months: -New radiator -New accessory belt -Transmission flush -Magnaflow muffler (I will include a Flowmaster RPM series muffler for local buyers- it is louder/growlier and has the LT1 tips) with custom pipes and wrapped in high temp wrap to avoid raising cabin temps. -New Fuel pump -New thermostat -New alternator -New battery -AC recharged with R134- no leaks and is ice cold. -Receipts for all this work! New Corvette wheels and tires: Front- 17x9.5 with Hankook Ventus 275/40/17 Rear- 18x9.5 with high end Pirellis 275/40/18 (not pictured, I will have them mounted and balanced before delivery- I've been using an extra pair for the rears that I wanted to use up before replacing) Why different brands? I got a great deal from a friend that works at a tire shop. Mods: -High performance Throttle Body -Full length Heddman headers -MSD Coil -Summit ignition wires -K&N Air Filter -Crane cam and lifters kit installed about 5k miles ago. -Shift kit (shifts firm) -Fuel pressure regulator and gauge -Custom Chip to complement mods. -IROC Z posi differential WITH rear wheel brakes 3.23 gears and correct proportioning valve for 4 wheel disc brakes!!! -Lowered 1" with aftermarket springs-done the right way. -B&M Shifter Exterior condition: -Was repainted about 9 years ago and it still shines nice. I'd say a solid 8 to 8.5 -Several rock chips on hood and mirrors as would be expected from driving. -No rust. -No dents only a few door dings that don't detract from its lines. -I polished the car and it shines really nice but a professional buffing would make it really really shine. -All glass is intact. -All lights work AOK and are nice and bright. -Headlight motors AOK and recently rebuilt. -I removed the factory wing because it was cracking badly. I really like the current look and mounting wholes were plugged with plastic trim covers. Lid has some scratches from age of wing mounting location and a bit of paint wear that is for the most part covered by plugs. They don't detract from the look in my opinion. I was quoted $300 by a reputable shop to weld-cover the holes and refinish the lid but decided to keep as is in case new owner decides to install a new wing. -No accidents as far is I know- The 2nd owner assured me of no accidents. I never had any accidents and the person who I had sold it to never had an accident. Interior condition: -No dash cracks. -All panels functional and in very good shape -Uphosltery in great shape sans a couple of cigarette burns that didn't tear through the fabric- this was done by 1st owner...no owner since has smoked in the car. -All lights and instrumentation work AOK. -Just check out the pics they tell the whole story!!! Driving condition: -As I said, I've been commuting 80 miles a day with no issues. -I have not noticed any leaks. -Some squeaks and rattles as to be expected from a 20 yr old F body but nothing that is unsettling or suspicious. -No overheating. -All electronics...as I said ALL electronics work AOK- both interior and exterior. -Passed CALIFORNIA emission test with out a simple problem!!! -It is quick but no Viper and I have not abused it. All its owners have been adults. -Oil pressure is great. While driving it's at 45 and 28-30 on dash gauge at idle when hot. -Radio will need replacing, display is out and CD is not working. Overall impression: It's a great looking survivor. I get complements on a regular basis. It would make a great restoration since everything is there, but honestly- I feel that it looks really nice with it's current look- no wing and middle pipes give it a nice edge. Feel free to ask questions. Sale is final since I am not a dealer and sold AS IS. Please understand that there is no better way to assess its condition than you looking at it and driving it- but I am honest and reliable. Local pickup and inspection HIGHLY encouraged- but please respect the guidelines for payment.
