Up for bid is a 1997 chevy suburban by owner. First I got a small dent, under the right rear tail light about a year ago. Then the transmission started to slip out of gear while driving a few months ago. Finally, about a week ago, someone broke the steering wheel column and ripped up the wiring to try to hotwire it. So I am selling it as is. The engine runs great, no knocking, no blue or black smoke. Newer fuel pump, electronic ignition, battery and alternator. Gray Cloth interior, OK condition, comes with 3rd seat. I am starting the bid at just $500 but I am hoping to get at least $1000, you decide what it is worth. Winner must pick up or arrange for shipping yourself. Unless you know how to fix the wiring damage the would be thieves caused by pulling out the wires, you will need to bring a car trailer or tow truck with you to haul it off and you are responsible for smogging it since now it is impossible for me to smog it. I just renewed the tags in June, so they will be good until June 2012. Everything was fine then, no problems, no thieves, I've had this SUV since 2004 and it has been great. I'll miss it, but at this point it is time to move on. Without a doubt if you can fix the wiring and rebuild the transmission or buy a used one, the SUV can easily be worth $4000, but I don't have the time or mechanical know how to fix it myself or the money needed to have someone else fix it.
