Vehicle Detail

You are looking at one fine example of a 1962 cadillac coupe deville. It is indeed a coup deville as the J in the vin # depicts. This car shows 35,000 miles on its odometer. While I have no actual documentation of this one may want to consider looking inside the interior and specifically the driver seat to argue how it is and if indeed it could look so good if it was another 100k added to it. The car started life with gold paint. sometime ago it was converted to a sandlewood color. It really looks nice in person and it compliments the interior perfectly. The car is straight and rust free. Not a bubble on this car. Interior is fantastic. Other than a set of sill plates and maybe some spot re-dying of the carpet..it is great. It has never been smoked in. All of the ashtrays are still shiny. All the lighters have been pushed in and do work. The radio and power antenna that is activated by one of the radio knows works good, and has a fader for the speaker in the rear. It is also a wonderbar. The selector buttom on the radio works the dial automatically finding the strongest station for you and the driver has the option of doing it by the little red button under the dash if he didn't want to lean over to the radio. (modern day seek and scan). Also added recently was a homelink panel to open your garage door openers from the car. It is nicely hidden in the glove box and comes with instructions. All courtesy lamps work as do the fender mounted lamp monitors and the new for 1961 cornering lamps. all 4 power windows work and will beat a new car in a 0-open and close again race!!! The power bench seat also works great. A set of aircraft landing lights were added along the way and installed correctly with a seperate relay as not to overload the factory wiring and they are operated by the factory floor switch. Also new for 1962 was the introduction of the dual brake line master cylinder. Which would later be standard in most gm cars in 1967 to present. All heat and defrost controls work. Wipers do not work and I have not looked into that. Interior smells fresh and has no hint at all of being musty or improperly stored over the years. It's one thing I always ask when buying an old car. You can't smell a pictureand what a surprise when you get a car home...The trunk looks like it has never been used. The original spare is there with a perfect spare rim. Even the spare tire cover is like new. All the jack parts still remain as does the bag full of parts. You can aslo tell a nice car when you look at the cardboard jack instructions located by the latch and how preserved that is. A few rains or snowstorm would have decayed that right up. The underside was factory undercoated and is very solid. sure it has a little surface rust here and there, but there are no patches nor does it need any. Lets face it, it is almost 50 years old. all the trim and brightwork inside is mint. Not a pit anywhere inside the interior including, rear view mirror stand, door panel metal, door panel chrome pulls, headliner trim etc etc. On the exterior the only part showing some age would be the bumpers. whem 5 feet away it is not an issue. I'm just trying to spell things out when I say there is some age speckles starting to show in the chrome. all light work including reverse. In 62 the tail lights were neat for the fact they are clear until the white of the reverse turns on or the lamps and signals show through red. Under the hood was left untouched over the years, and has not been detailed. Motor is not all greasy and looks like a low mileage 62 should. Car starts right up cold with a pump of the gas. Kick it down and start to cruise. It does not make noise or smoke. While I have no documentation, this car was said to be owned by the Krause family. They are a long time staple in our local funeral home community. Everyone here has heard of them and I was told it was their own car and not used for work. Tires are real nice and have a long way to go. Exhaust is good yet with factory resonator out back. Just a nice classic driver. My wife and I just took it out to eat this weekend and it's fun to look out the windows at the people of all ages that are drawn to it. Car is located 90 miles north of chicago. I encourage all inspections as there is nothing to hide. Jason 414-688-0604. Car sold as is and I reserve the right to end auction early.
