1973 MERCEDES BENZ 280SEL 4.5 VIN: 10806812016662 DESCRIPTION: The automotive expression "Survivor Car" has become very popular lately and perhaps a bit overused. It does however describe perfectly this big comfortable car that we are selling. This Mercedes Benz 280 SEL 4.5 was purchased new by the individual that currently owns it. It was a second vehicle and it was seldom that it saw foul weather. It has always been garaged and was meticulously maintained on a regular basis. It is currently registered and occasionally used. We drove this car quite a distance to shoot the photos and it performed flawlessly on the back country roads as well as at speed on the highways. You wouldn't need to have this vehicle towed home as we feel it could be driven to its new destination. As with all of our eBay Motors listings we try to let the photographs tell the story about the vehicles that we are selling. If you study our multiple images carefully you will see exactly what this car is all about. The A/C is only blowing cool and will most likely need some attention. The heater controls all work smoothly and the rest of the mechanical components all work as designed: sunroof, electric windows, wipers and washers, turn signal indicators, interior lighting and clock. Everything. There was a small repair to the driver's door, so the paint looks different and has some checking. The paint job on the car looks much better in the pictures than it does in person. It has faded with age and there are some small dents and scratches. The car wasn't detailed prior to taking the images so it could be made to look much better with a professional day of beauty. The MB Tex interior and the wooden dash parts all look very good and show almost no signs of deterioration. The headliner has a few minor stains. There is no rust at all visible on the car and it still retains the original rubber plugs in all four jack post positions and inside the trunk still resides the spare, all of the tools and the original floor mat. It still has all of the original factory undercoating.
