Vehicle Detail

Very Rare REDUCED PRICE This is a collecter vehicle and needs a new owner who can enjoy it. I have kept it on the show circuit for my Ambulance Sales business and it is fun but I have other new 2011 Ambulances I have to drive to these shows. This great car is left setting. I have driven it 2,000 miles and it is ready to go again, tires look like new, I had a new fuel tank sending unit installed and it had a recent mechanics inspection and service. It has the 455 Rocket V-8 Oldsmobile engine these were conversions done by the Cotner Bevington Company in Arkansas and the raised the roof and built an all steel top. It was repainted but has always been white with an orange stripe like most ambulances in the era. I have added two 12 volt power points so you can charge cell phones and plug in a GPS. The original 1972 Oldsmobile owners manual is with the car as well as sales brochures from the 1972 Ambulance builder. We are having fun with this 38 year old Cotner Bevington Custom Classic 1972 Oldsmobile Regency 98 high top ambulance. Yes ! Original miles should remain at about 17,700 and thanks to Ed a dedicated collecter this one is in extremely nice shape. We are going through the last items and spending even more money to make it perfect... AC was converted to R134 and I added power ports under the dash..new fuel tank sending unit and I drive this nearly every day ! No pesky Radio ! No air bags, no cruise, no problem pushing a Toyota Prius into the the HOV Lane. at 22 feet and 6200 lbs..ah thats three tons..you always win in a Road Rage Incident involving bumper cars !.. It burns premium fuel at 10 mpg It cruises nice at 80 and will go much faster (rumored)! 6200 lbs of history and it is a very rare piece with such low miles..... but I make a rule never get to attached to a car ! The next one is right around the corner... . I would like to keep it but I have said the same thing about every ambulance I have ever bought. I get to feeling like a bad parent when I leave something like this out in the Montana snow. A little history. Cotner-Bevington Corporation, 1959-1975; Blytheville, Arkansas Associated Builders Comet Coach Co. 1959 was a busy year for the small Comet Coach Co., one of Memphis Tennessee's "small 4 (Weller Bros., Barnette/Barnett, Comet/Pinner, and Memphis/Economy Coach)" professional car producers that flourished there in the 1940s-1960s. Comet sold the Comet name to the Ford Motor Company to use on a new line of 1961 Mercury compact cars. At much the same time they moved into a new modern plant they had built in Blytheville, Arkansas, a small town located just west of the Mississippi River, 65 miles to the north. Comet's third owner, J.W. (Jack) Pinner, elected to stay in the Memphis area and formed the Pinner Coach Co. in nearby Olive Branch, Mississippi (10 miles South of Memphis) while the two remaining owners - Waldo J. Cotner (1909-2001) and Robert Bevington (1911-2000) renamed the firm after themselves - Cotner-Bevington Corp.
