This example is one of the hard to come by 1996-97 LX450 with solid front axle which is the best for off-road use when combined with the 24 valve second generation Land Cruiser inline 6 motor and then bored out to 4.5 liters for the Lexus model. It is the perfect combo of overland travel ability, utility, and comfort with power but decent fuel consumption. The car drives absolutely excellent, great power, smooth, handles very nicely, recent tires are excellent Yokohama Geolander HT-S AT, PS, PB, PW, PDL, PMirrors all working A/C blows very cold Nice Leather Third Row Seats, split folding and fold up. Second Row Split Seat with armrests Bucket Power front seats with armrests Low Range AWD works excellent, with center differential locker and ABS cancel. Excellent electrical features, all working except antennae (see below) Brake Very Good, Safety Inspection completed by licensed CA shop Transmission shifts excellent, no apparent leaks or slipping issues. Smog tested for CA emissions, blows very clean. Issues known: Power antennae for radio does not work with power switch, only manually, but does go up and down. One mirror wiggles a bit when you drive fast (just the glass, not the whole mirror unit) Side swipe in parking garage damage to right side running board, and dogleg mouldings in front of rear wheel on right side Some swipe scratches and ding on rear quarter panel, see photos. We chose not to repair this and "cover it up" we feel its best that the buyer repairs this minor damage themselves to the standard they wish to do. Or just remove running boards and mouldings.
