This is it! Many of you eBay bidders watching my 5th Wheel RV up on auction have asked about the tow vehicle. Here it is - 1996 Chevy C/K 3500, Extended Cab, Turbo Diesel. It has led a quiet life under my ownership, with only 140K miles total. I'll run thru the specs and let you view the pics: * auto transmission (never had any issues) * 6.5L Turbo Diesel (always reliable) * 2 WD with dual rear wheels * tires in very good condition *pwr everything - brakes, steering, windows, driver seat, locks *A/C (has a slow leak; I recharge it when needed) *Cruise control *AM-FM-Cassette stereo *Extended Cab "Silverado" pkg *nice interior - split front seat, fold up rear... no cracks in dash or door plastic... I think a prior owner was a smoker; some small burns in driver side headliner, and a couple of "specs" in seat I'm guessing are from careless cigarette handling. Non-smoker owned for years now; no smoke odor *tilt wheel *factory rubber floor mats have protected original carpet *diamond plate full length running boards *overall paint and body are as nice as they look in pics - very clean truck *bed has frame mounted Curt Mfg. E5 5th Wheel (16K tow cap; 4K pin weight; adjustable height; auto latch/single handle release; 4-pin removable from bed) *bed side rails *wired for RV power plug *under dash electric brake controller Now for the flaws! The body is great, with the bed taking the abuse from previous owner(s). As shown in pics, there are some small cracks in a couple places in the body around the taillight and fender (so small I have to point them out unless you go over truck with a close eye!) Truck bed has been "beat up" a bit over the years. My original plan to help this was to clean up and spray in bedliner, just never got around to it. Bed used to have flip up goose neck ball hitch, so a big rectangle was cut out in the middle of the bed to accomodate. The 5th wheel sets over that as shown in pic. For such an overall good looking truck, the previous owners didn't take a whole lot of care in what they threw in the bed! I guess it really is "just a truck"! Also, since this rig is a bit oversize for most garages, it has picked up a few hail dimples over the years, but you have to get down at the right angle to even see those on roof and hood. Other than that, a few nicks and pings from road stuff not worth worrying about. The interior is also very nice. A few bits of damage from previous careless smoker (shown in headliner pic), but otherwise very much like new! I recently installed a new windshield since a crack in the old one wouldn't officially pass MO state inspection. All the power accessories work. The A/C works fine, but since it has a small leak - and I drive the big truck rarely - I've just been charging the system on an "as needed" basis. The tires all around are in good shape with lots of tread left. Not sure how many miles on this set. The front end has a "shimmy" or vibration to it at a certain speed like the left-front wheel needs rebalanced, but again my lack of need and priority for this particular vehicle never made it an urgent issue. It's more of a noticeable annoyance I just wanted to point out. Somewhere along the line the driver side window add-on gutter shield broke and came off. The pass side is still on (see pics.) I cleaned up remaining adhesive as best I could. It is easily replaced if desired. And if I was going to keep this vehicle, I think I'd try out some of that headlight lens plastic polish. These originals have some of that "age haze" to them. As mentioned before, I am the third, maybe 4th owner of this vehicle and acquired it in a package of things from my deceased father-in-law that included this truck and his 5th Wheel RV. Selling both and I have no need of either without the other. This vehicle is sold "as is, where is" with no warranty. Buyer responsible for pickup. This will be a NO RESERVE auction. I'll set a very low minimum, a BUY IT NOW price for those RV bidders that might like it "now", and otherwise it will go to the highest eBay bidder for a sure sale. PayPal is preferred payment.
