For Auction is a 1999 Volkswagen Passat Wagon 1.8T. It has a 5-Speed Manual transmission. 172K miles. Very nice color...Dark Blue(but looks deep purple at times). Bought this one as one of my project cars, but longer have time to dedicate to it as I've moved on to my S4 Avant project. Just can't do them at the same time. Purchased in Feb 2011 and has been GARAGE KEPT since. Original owner was a florist and used it as a company delivery car. The timing belt went up on it and sold it back to the dealer. There were no other issues as the car was never in an accident and it is a one owner vehicle. It will need a timing belt and some misc. parts. The dealer's body shop used the front clip, part of the left rail and airbags for another car, which I have purchased within the last 6 months. I purchased a complete front clip (silver) which is also included in this auction along with the rail replacement. The silver front end parts are in excellent condition. Hood, bumper, and fenders are original and has no defects. I think the hood may have some minor paint chips, but you won't find one in this great of shape as a full matching set. Other than this, the body is straight and in great condition. There is some normal wear and tear scratch on the rear bumper and a very small door ding on the driver's side front door. Other than that, the paint and body are great. Black leather interior is very clean. Wheels are great and tires have lots of tread. I also have a complete set of airbags and control unit along with the more sought after 3-spoke steering wheel for an additional $300(what I paid for the set plus control unit and steering wheel). They are not included with this auction, but can also be purchased. The car still has the original control unit. This is a very nice car for someone who has the time and/or wants a nice project car for a VW fan, especially since I have a majority of the parts necessary to complete. Also good for someone with the time to part out. You can easily make some extra cash parting the car out or someone who has a passat and needs spare parts. Over $2500 invested. My loss is your gain.
