Shay founded the Model A & Model T Motor Car Reproduction Corporation in the spring of 1978 (which name was changed to Shay Motors Corporation in November of 1980). Harry Shay had a great deal worked out with Ford. The plan was to send at least one car to every Ford dealership across the USA. Ford got publicity and attracted customers to its showrooms and Shay got access to an extraordinary distribution network. Ford waived design patents for its Model A so that the Shay Roadster could be built. Ford supplied the platform, Shay manufactured the cars and Ford, Mercury and Lincoln dealers sold them. They built about 5000 roadsters, 200 reproductions of the 1956 Ford Thunderbird and a hand full of 1929 Ford pickup trucks. Of those 5,000 only 500 Super Deluxe’s were produced, which this car is. Finished in a black with fiberglass fenders, the car looks great with its single side mount, brand new Firestone white wall tires all around red wire wheels, side curtains and trunk. The paint on the car is nearly perfect with no major imperfections. Both bumpers look great and show no pitting or dents. The convertible soft top goes up and down with no issues and is brand new. All the snaps are secure and not torn from the top. There are side curtains that attach with no problems. The wood on the rear luggage rack looks great and shows no rotting or discoloration. Inside, the leather seat looks great with no rips or tears. This interior was done less then a year ago. The tan carpet looks great with no blemishes. The car does have seat belts for a driver and passenger as well as seat belts in the rear rumble seat. The seat in the rear looks as good as the front seat. All gauges are in good working order as well as all of the lights and blinkers.Under the hood, there is a 4 cylinder carbureted motor that fires right up every time. This is connected to an manual transmission that shifts with no problems. The underside of the car is very solid with no rot to the frame and no signs of any accidents. The red wire wheels are wrapped with 5 brand new Firestone White Wall tires that have less then 100 miles on them. The wheels are all powder coated. On the road the car drives great and has plenty of power. Much more usefull and drivable then a true Model A. The current mileage shows 16,172 and is original for the car. VIN number is 1HWA31AA5AE006363 and the car is being sold on a clean Indiana title showing the car as a Model A. This is one of the nicest Shay’s you will ever see and is better then it was new. It is for this reason that all vehicles are sold "AS IS". We have described the above mentioned vehicle to the best of our ability. However, with all pre-owned automobiles, the condition is subjective. Please be advised that no oral or written statements concerning any vehicle constitutes a representation or warranty of the condition of the said vehicle. The vehicle is available for inspection prior to bidding. All disputes arising out of or resulting from this sale shall be finally determined by binding arbitration in St. Louis, Missouri in accordance with the commercial rules of arbitration of the American Arbitration Association. The arbitration shall be carried out by one or more arbitrators in accordance with said rules. Any award shall be enforceable in any court of competent jurisdiction in the same manner as judgments. This agreement to arbitrate shall survive the sale of the automobile described herein. Buyer and Seller hereby agree that Missouri law shall control for all purposes under this Bill of Sale. Buyer and Seller hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction of the state and federal courts of Missouri to specifically enforce the agreement to arbitrate and to enter judgment of and enforce the award of the arbitrator. All above terms and conditions are applied to vehicle sales, whether through Ebay or otherwise. Sorry, but in all fairness to the bidding process, I will NOT disclose my reserve price until the auction has ended. Payment Terms Payment must be made by Cashiers Check, Money Orders or Wire Transfers payable in US Dollars. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. If an inspection or decision takes longer then seven days and you find the vehicle not to your liking, your deposit will be forfeited and the car will be relisted. Final payment must be received within ten (10) days of the auction close. The refundable deposit only applies if you or an agent inspect said vehicle in St. Louis and find it not to your liking. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left my property. I am just being realistic, most of the cars I deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and should not be treated as such. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax. The forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. Original paperwork will be sent to Buyer Via overnight mail seven(7)days from date of final payment. Transportation will commence only after final payment and signed documentation are received. Once a car is picked up from our premises, you will NOT be able to return the car.
