Thanks for coming to check out this auction! I have an excellent reputation & positive feedback rating on eBay, so you can bid with confidence on my items. Please be sure to read the entire description and view all of the super-sized photos of the vehicle before placing your bids. Thank you. Notice, this is a no reserve auction! Shown here is a 1957 Chevrolet 150 2 door sedan with a 355 V8 engine and 4-on-the-floor Muncie M-21 manual transmission. It is basically original, and fairly un-molested, but has a different drivetrain than stock (an improvement over the 6cylinder and 3-speed it came with from the factory). The engine runs very well (strong!) and sounds nice & healthy with the dual exhaust. The transmission shifts perfectly smooth through all the gears (you don't even need the clutch once you get moving). The brakes are decent and don't pull to either side, but are spoungy, so probably need to be bled (typical old car, drum brake issue). As happend with most all of these cars... the bottoms of both front fenders rusted out, and have been patched. Also, the quarters have some body-filler in them, and are wavy. I'd say the patching and paint job was probably done about 15 years ago, and the body-filler is starting to bubble now (as shown in the pictures). I went over it all with a magnet, and it still stuck basically everywhere though, (so there's metal underneath the areas with bondo) but "weakly". It's a 20 footer. It looks quite presentable, and is certainly decent enough for a daily driver just the way it sits...but it would need to be re-painted if you wanted to make a perfect show car out of it. The floorpans are pretty nice except for one small place underneath the back seat, and that's it. The trunk floor is really solid, and frame is totally fine as far as rust goes. The speedometer works, but isn't accurate. Other gauges and such seem to be in working order except the fuel gauge. The interior is mostly original and starting to get a little tattered on the door panels & such, but has a new headliner, new carpet, and decent seats. The driver's doorglass is cracked, but it's just flat glass, so it would be easy and inexpensive to replace at any glass shop. The chrome-reverse smoothie wheels and tires are new. I'd knock off a few hundred bucks off the final price of the car if the buyer didn't want them. I don't have any other wheels for this car though, so you'd have to bring your own set to swap over upon pickup. I might be able to find something at the local junk-yards if necessary (if not wanting the chromies, and for shipping purposes). According to the condition standards of the Old Cars Price Guide, I would say that this car is a good, solid #3 condition vehicle. They value this 1957 Chevrolet 150 two-door sedan at $13,500.00, however I've listed ours at far less with no reserve, so take advantage of your opportunity to buy this desireable classic at a bargain price! If you have any further questions, please feel free to e-mail my partner at oldcargeek@gmail.com, or give him a call at (641) 512-5229. He is a knowledgeable mechanic and bodyman, and is very familiar with the car. Anyone is welcome to come inspect the vehicle in person, or send an independent technician over to inspect it for you. Thanks for looking! If you intend to have this vehicle shipped with a car carrier, the auto transporters I have contact info for are as follows: Atlas Auto Transport (888)285-2706, D.A.S. (Dependable Auto Shippers) with a shipping dock out of Altoona, Iowa (about 2&½ hours from us here in Mason City) 800 826-1083. By bidding on this item (or otherwise agreeing to purchase the vehicle), you acknowledge that it is being sold AS IS with no warranty implied or expressed, and that we require a $250.00 security deposit via PayPal or money order sent to myself: Jesse Wunderlich, 15791 Nettle Ave., Mason City, IA 50401 within 5 days of auction’s end, and the remaining balance of the vehicle is to be paid for in full within 10 days. If coming to pick it up in person, then we ask that you bring cash for the remainder of payment, otherwise if having the vehicle shipped, a Wells Fargo or Bank of America cashier’s check is acceptable. If you can’t get the vehicle picked up right away, storage for a reasonable amount of time may be an option, but please ask before you bid, and remember that the vehicle must be paid for in full within 10 days of auction’s end whether it has been picked up yet or not. I request Wells Fargo or Bank of America because they are National Chains and I can go right down to our local branch here in Mason City and cash the note right away without having to wait for a 10 day hold from another bank. This way, I can just send the title right out to you, and there’s no waiting for the funds to clear. This helps with those having a vehicle transported as well, because I cannot release a vehicle to an auto shipper if the payment is not cleared. Anyone failing to pay for an item won at auction will surely have non-paying-bidder action taken against them. Security deposits are considered non-refundable.
