I am the 2nd owner of the 1985 Nissan 300ZX. The miles listed are accurate and documented. The 1st owner purchased the 300Z in NJ as a spare car which he drove very little. The owner then moved down to Florida in 1997 to retire and put the car in storage but also had the timing belt changed in July 1997 showing the car had 40,900 miles which is documented by a Nissan Service Label affixed under the hood (see photo). He kept the car in a climate controlled garage. He had the car elevated off the ground to prevent flat spots on the tires, coated the cylinders with oil, drained the gas tank and removed the battery. I came across the Z through word of mouth and contacted the owner to see if he would consider selling it to me. He did not have it listed for sale. After a few hours of discussion and a few days thinking about it, he decided to part with it since he felt he would never get around to driving it again. I had the Z delivered to my mechanic and had all the fluids changed (have all receipts) including Mobile 1 Synthetic engine oil, filter, brake fluid removed and replaced, new transmission fluid, radiator flushed and filled, power steering fluid, new platinum spark plugs, belts, and a new battery which has a 3 year warranty. The disc brakes (pads) have plenty of life on them so they did not need replaced. The AC compressor was making a noise so I had a new rebuilt compressor installed. My mechanic still has plenty of R-12 and he didn't recommend converting it over to R134A because that requires an extra 100 pounds of pressure in the system. He replaced the compressor, recharged with R-12 and the AC is ice cold and works perfect. I have all the receipts showing the above items were done which will go to the new owner. Nissan had a recall (they called in a safety improvement campaign) back in the 1990’s on these cars with the fuel injectors. I contacted Nissan and they confirmed by the VIN number that the fuel injectors were replaced by a Nissan dealer in 03/1997. They also sent me an email for documentation which will go with the new owner of the car. This 300Z runs perfect with absolutely no issues. It starts right up, shifts smooth and is absolutely enjoyable to drive. The factory mint white paint is all original and shines like it did when it was built. There was a small area on the front driver’s side fender that had a dent created while it was in storage. I had the dent repaired and the body shop had to blend/paint the small area (6-8”) as part of the repair process. It matches perfect without any issue. The rest of the paint is all original and is as shines brilliantly as when it was painted at the factory. The car has NEVER been in an accident. There is absolutely no rust on this vehicle. The Bridgestone tires have plenty of tread life on them and they are the 2nd set of tires on the car. The T-tops are in perfect condition and there are absolutely no leaks anywhere. The T-top shades and storage bags are also in perfect condition. The wheels are perfect with no chips or scratches on them. All of the rubber molding around all windows, doors and T-Tops are in mint condition with no wear or dry rot. The red leather seats are supple and perfect with no tears or wear. The original floor mats are in very good condition (see photo). The leather wrapped steering wheel has no wear on it and the center console is perfect too. Carpet is not faded at all and in perfect condition. The dash has zero cracks or scratches in it and is soft and in perfect condition. This car comes with the optional electronic equipment package that includes steering-wheel mounted controls for am/FM stereo and cruise control. Digital dash, acceleration and instant MPG along with a digital compass make up the two circle gauges in the center of the console. The Electronic Equipment Packages also includes Nissans upgraded AM/FM stereo radio, advanced cassette tape deck, 9-band graphic equalizer and 8 high-performance speakers. Lastly, the package also included an upgraded digital climent control system with automatic temperature control that actually has 8 sensors that measure solar radiation, outside temperature, and more. The car also has a female voice that talks to you if you leave your lights on after you turn off the engine. This car was ahead of its time when produced and at night with the digital gauges it is quite a site to take in. All controls, and electronics work perfect. The engine and bay is very clean and there are zero fluid leaks of any kind – not one drop! The original spare tire has never been used or removed from the vehicle and comes with the original Nissan can of compressed air for inflation (see photo). Also see that all the tools are still in perfect condition in the photo taken. The original sun shade for the back hatch is still with the car and works perfect. Many of these disappeared from the cars over the years so I was happy that the original owner did not remove it. I had the windows professionally tinted (have receipt too) due to Florida sun and to prevent any UV damage when the car is outside. It also gives a nice appearance with the color of the car and black trim. The 300Z is garaged 100% of the time when not driven. There is not dirt or grease build up around the door hinges, hatch etc. This car truly could be put back on the showroom floor. The first owner had an Alpine Alarm system installed back in 1986. The Alpine alarm manual including the installation sheet dated in 1986 is also in the glove box. The alarm works perfect and comes with the key fob, and was professionally installed including a bypass switch if you want to disable it. Also included are the original owner’s manual, the original quick reference card for the automatic temperature control, and even the original pre-delivery inspection/checklist dated 07/01/85 by the dealership. I have three sets of ignition keys and two sets of keys that lock and unlock the T-Tops. I also have an original 1985 300ZX dealer brochure that is in perfect condition and contains all the specs, photos and is 19 pages in length. The one thing I have noticed is the trip odometer does not display consistently. I’m guessing there is a small short somewhere in the dash. It's not worth pulling the dash apart for something like that. All other digital components function without any issues. Keep in mind the main “master” odometer is analog on these cars and not digital. The trip OD does not affect the master analog OD. The vehicle is titled and insured in my name. Insurance is inexpensive and I would recommend insuring it through an antique insurance company. I use Grundy which allows unlimited miles, and a zero deductible along with an agreed value. They required photos and documentation but since I have done all of that with them it would be easy to transfer over in your name. It’s only $132/year and that’s better than Hagerty too. I will provide the buyer with all the documentation, receipts of items mentioned performed on the car and will even provide you the original owners name and address should you wish to reach out to him. This car can be driven anywhere without any hesitation. This car is basically a brand new 1985 car. I’ve done all the initial work bringing it out of storage so it’s ready to drive and provide you years of pleasure. Everything works just as it did when it rolled off the assembly line in Japan. I would rate this car a 9.0 out of 10. Potential buyers are welcome to come inspect and see the vehicle.
