1986 VW Jetta turbo diesel 90k mi! This car works great. Clutch and timing belt replaced at 70k, brakes redone last year, CD player, I'm buying a new car, must sell! 5 speed manual trans. Super cold A/C, has sweet refrigerant they don't sell anymore. Only 90,042 miles. Bought new in 1986 by a car nut and family owned ever since. Here are two same body-style Jettas that just sold on eBay: -1991 Turbo Diesel Jetta 154k mi $3200 (Aug 23, 2011) -1991 Diesel (no turbo) Jetta 234k mi $3250 (Aug 24, 2011) Gets great mileage and has amazing range; I did 515 miles on one tank on a road trip from Portland to Salt Lake City in the summer of 2007. My cousin gave me this car in 2006 and it's been great ever since. When she gave it to me it had 73,000 miles and I've used lightly it at college here at BYU in Provo, UT. Obviously this is a car that can do well over 200k mi. I'm buying a new car and need to sell this one, it's been really good to me and makes me sad but the show must go on. I've had a few questions come in so I'd like to post answers. eBay shows that there issues with the title from the VIN history. There are no issues with the title, it's clean and transferable. The car was in an accident in the year 2000 but I wasn't aware of that until I submitted the VIN to eBay. I don't think it was significant but may have been enough to warrant new headlights, they don't look 25 years old. Also the odometer did go in and out of functionality a road trip in 2007. When I got the car it had 73,000mi and it has left the state only twice since then. It probably has an actual 91,000-94,000 miles but nothing like the 147k or 234k of other older Jettas. The seats look near perfect, this car has never had an owner with small children. The car ships as-is. It does pull to the left a little because the strut mounts are worn. They cost $30 ea. I've had to replace the door handles and ignition switch so I have 4 keys- driver door, passenger door, ignition, original (glove box, gas cap, trunk). Also the interior door pull on the rear driver side is cracked but still gets the job done. No door pull on the rear passenger side. I don't suspect anyone is looking for perfection in a 25 year old car but I thought I would lay these issues out there. 2 spare tires! Also the original jack and lug nut tool are included.
