New HeadlinerInterior was removed and cleaned, then reinstalled by a professional detailer! The interior is in EXCELLENT SHAPE and the dash IS NOT cracked!NO BAD SMELLS in this car!The tires have only about 5000 miles on them. All of the door locks work properly including the rear hatch. The drivers door must be locked with the key. This is a factory feature to prevent locking your keys inside. The child locks work on the rear doors as well. The car drives out perfect and rides smooth. It is no power house, however it is very peppy for a 1.6 Liter NON- TURBO. It has a 4-speed manual transmission and shifts really good. The clutch is good also. The 4th gear is almost like a 5th gear because of the wide gear ratio between 3rd and 4th yielding excellent fuel economy! It gets 45-50 Miles Per Gallon ! But if you are looking for a "hot rod" I suggest an old "muscle car". Being a diesel you get that normal vibration at an idle, but it smooths out very good when you start off down the road. Don't mis-understand me, the car runs perfectly with NO SKIPPING or rough idle, its just typical for a diesel to "diesel" at an idle. The paint and body are in pretty good shape over all. However it has had its share of dings and scratchs over the years. It has been touched up and once again the paint is not the best. If you are looking for a show car I suggest you buy a "new car" or a "fully restored "one. As you can see in the pictures it has a VERY GOOD general appearance. All of the lights work including the reverse lights, blinkers, 4-way flashers, instrument lights, brake lights, headlights (hi and lo beam), and the dome light works with the doors or the headlight switch. Even the up shift light works properly. The wipers work on both high and low speed and the washer squirter works also. The radio is an AM/FM Cassete Stereo that is in working order. One key fits everything including the glove box, rear hatch, doors and the ignition switch. It has the original trim rings and center caps on the original wheels. As you can see in the pictures you could run it with or without the center caps. The car comes with a good spare, jack and lug rench. The car has FACTORY A/C which is both good and bad. Good because I think it is probably easier and cheaper to fix the existing A/C than to have to put a complete system on it. A/C is not my level of expertise, but I do know how to jump a hot wire to see if the compressor is working. The clutch does lock in and turns fine with no noises when you put power to it. Now the BAD. The body is in GREAT overall condition, however there are about 3 rust spots that are worth mentioning. The first one is behind the left rear wheel and beside the tail pipe (see picture). The second one is direct opposite of the first one behind the right rear wheel and is not quiet as bad(see picture). The third one is in the bottom of the spare tire caddy(see picture). The clear coat is peeling primarily on the HOOD as you can see in the close up shot of the HOOD (click on photo link at the top of this description). The car has FACTORY A/C that IS NOT WORKING. THE END of the BAD! The car is located in WHEATLAND, MISSOURI about 55 miles north of SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI. I may or may not be able to meet you at the airport for pick up depending on the day and time, but I am willing to try to work something out in that respect. You may call Don @ 573-821-1978 with any questions.
