Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is one mean running 1934 Ford truck Rat Rod. It runs great, doesn't overheat and turns heads everywhere it goes. If you don't like people asking you about what you're driving everytime you stop, then don't bother bidding. See discriptions below. DRIVETRAIN: The engine is from a 1980 Chevy truck. It's a 4-bolt main 350 that has great oil pressure, doesn't smoke or burn oil. When I swapped the heads and cam out it didn't have any abnormal wear on cylinder walls or bearings. If I had to guess, it has about 80k miles on it. The cam is .450 lift with a decent idle. Head are RHS (Racing Head Service) p/n 12317-01 cast iron. For specs on the heads check out this link www.racingheadservice.com/Information/Technical/Heads/TechSheets/12317-01IS.pdf . Intake is an early Edelbrock tunnel ram with two side mounted Road Demon Jr. 525 cfm carbs. They work well together and when opened up, hold-on! The only thing I don't like is the M/T vlave covers don't have baffles. If you run it hard don't the hiway you get oil drips from the breathers whick either smoke off the headers or speckel the windshield. Transmission is a Powerglide out of a 67 Impala. It has been mildly massaged and has a TCI aluminum finned pan on it. It shifts real hard if you are doing the shifting but if you let it just be an automatic it can be a little spongey. Rear axle is a 12-bolt Chev from the same Impala the tranny came from. It's not noisey and doesn't leak a drop. The exhaust is block hugger headers with round turbo mufflers not glasspacks. STEERING, BRAKES AND SUSPENSION: Steering gearbox is Corvair which attaches to the wheels via aluminum rods and hiem joints from Speedway Motors. Front brakes are 1969-79 Chevy 11" rotors and calipers on 1947 Chev spindles from Speedway. Rear brakes are the stock '67 drums that came with the axle. Plumbing is kevlar from master cylinder and steel braided to the front wheels. Front suspension is a 4 inch drop, spring behind axle, straight axle with hair pins from Speedway. Rear has air bags to adjust ride hieght and gas shocks. Axle is controlled with 4-links and panard bar. Wheels are Wheel Vintiques dual bolt pattern 5 on 4.75 and 4.5. Fronts are 14x7, rears 15x7. Tires are new. FRAME AND BODY: Frame is a T-bucket frame from Speedway Motors with an extension welded on to the back so the truck bed wouldn't be so short. Body is 1934 Ford truck found out in the Wyoming oil fields. It was originally painted red and I think was used to haul water or drill pipe. It has a weight tag painted on the doors of 526x under the primer. I can't make the rest out. The passenger door hinge was welded with a torch I'm guessing back in the '40's. The floorhas been channeled about 4 inches so it sits nice and low on the frame. Dash is the original. Looks like someone enlarged the gauge holes alittle and there is an extra hole in it for the overcab light switch it once had. Glass side windows have cracks in them the windshield and back glass are in good shape. The windshield still fold out. Don't remember where the seat came from but it's in perfect shape and red. The truck bed is a shortened '56 Ford and the tailgate is narrowed '60 Ford truck. Radiator shell is a shortened '30 Chev. The radiator is an all welded aluminum, 1 inch tube, automatic trans cooler model for a '32 Hi-boy. I mounted it about 4 inches lower and canted is back. It's built to cool 1000hp engines and won't overheat even when it's 100 degrees and in traffic like this years Kool Deadwood Nights. The gass tank is a 11 gallon spun aluminum model from Speedway. It does get about 10 mpg. Overall the body is in good shape. It does have rust on the bottom of the doors and plenty of dents but I think it adds character. Light work well. There are no turn signals or windshield wipers. Doors open and close. Windows go up and down. If you are looking for a show car, this isn't it. It does run, drive and stop very well. It only weights about 1500lbs and has 300hp. Do the math! If I had one complaint about it, it is noisey in the cab at speeds around 45mph. I never installed any sound deadeners. I was going to rhino line the firewall and under/behind the seat but never got around to it. Honestly, I enjoyed driving it to much to take it apart again. If you want an unique little truck bid away! You cannot build one of these for the reserve price. $500 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of action end with remainder due within 7 days. Don't bid if you cannot pay!!! On Sep-04-11 at 13:44:18 PDT, seller added the following information: Had some questions about the title. It is a clear title with a good VIN it is not a VIN from a random car in a junk yard. This truck was police inspected, when deemed safe, issued a VIN like you would have to do with a kit car or homemade trailers. I also forgot to add the heads have stamped roller tip rockers installed. The doors have plnety of dents and dings but the windows do go up and down just fine. The drivers door if slammed closed can only be opened from the inside. On Sep-05-11 at 14:29:38 PDT, seller added the following information: Went for a 100 mile cruise today, Sep. 5th. It's running great. Also added more pics outside the garage. All were taken today. The pic of the drivers door shows some issues it has. The pic of the gauges was taken as soon as I pulled into the garage. It shows an idle of 1000 rpm and the oil pressure gauge is at 20 psi. I know it's hard to see that but that's what it is. Not bad after 100 miles on the road in 80 degree temps!
