Vehicle Detail
Up for bid is an original Willys Cj3a. This is a real special jeep and one of the lowest mileage original Willys left around with only 26,960 original miles. I bought this from the original owner who had always kept it out of the weather never driven in the snow and always babied it, never any abuse. This is a truly remarkable jeep, a real survivor, 100% untouched. It retains all original Luzon Red paint with zero bondo period. The paint is faded of coarse. The original beige highlighting on the Willys embossing on the hood and tailgate is still there. The '4 wheel drive" stenciling is still on the tailgate as well. Even all the wiring is original and the crazy thing is that everything works including the original horn, all gauges, lights, etc. The two front seats are original. The original Harrison heater works and still has the Willys decal on it. This jeep never was modified whatsoever, its a time capsule, the original oak hood blocks and oak spare tire pad are still intact. If you ever wanted to see how an original Willys was finished from the factory this is it. All brackets that were originally black are still black, no one has taken a rattle can to the jeep anywhere, truly untouched. It still has the original single tail light, most people would drill holes in the tub to add a second with turn signals. There is next to no rust on this jeep. It was never driven hard and it really shows, If you are a Willys guy you will know what I am talking about, the floor supports/hat channels are absolutely perfect with no cracks, deformation, or warp-age in the floors and floor supports. It is quite rare to find and old willys with out any of these issues. For those who don't know Willys put wood inside all the floor supports to add strength, but was a terrible idea since the wood would harvest the moisture, this jeep doesn't have any rust in the in the channels. So that everyone understands, this jeep has %100 original body panels including original floors. The tool compartment is rust free as well. The only rust to mention is on the tailgate bottom lip were its common to find. I cant emphasize enough as to how solid, straight and unabused this jeep really is. The original foot pedal starter is still there. The engine is a rare factory service replacement, it is the only one of its kind with harden valve seats, these engines were sold to replace your engine when gone bad. The harden valve seats made for a much more durable engine. the casting # is 908756 . You can read about this flat head Willys engine at www.g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=159596. The engine runs like new absolutely no smoke or overheating and has gobs of power, it will do 55 mph and thats at 5000 feet. The engine has over 60 lbs of oil pressure. The transmission shifts perfect with no grinding. The way this jeep runs is indicative to a low mileage vehicle. This jeep is great as is or would make one of the easiest showroom restorations around, no digging out someone elses bondo mess or replacing panels. This is an incredible original willys, no disappointments.
