Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a retired Dallas Police car. My father bought this car about 10 years ago as restoration project. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with cancer shortly after purchasing it and never got around to his restorations plans. My father has since passed so I'm helping my mother sale off his collection of Mopars. This car is equipped with Mopar's A38 police package, which means this is a factory 4bbl carburetor with 318 engine and 360 heads & 904 heavy duty transmission with tranny cooler and power steering pump cooler. This car RUNS GREAT, it is obvious it has been impeccably mechanically maintained. It does not appear to burn oil and has great oil pressure and just runs so smooth and ready to scoot! THIS IS NOT YOUR GRANDMAWS DIPLOMAT! The only problem mechanical that I have seen is that a freeze plug on the engine block right above the starter has started leaking due to age. This is apparently is a very common problem as my father and I have had to replace many of these on the 318 engines. Its an easy & cheap fix as the parts cost you a total of about $40. The blinkers and AC are not currently working at the moment, again I'm sure due to sitting for about 10 years. Over all this a great car that needs a little TLC! Please do not hesitate to ask questions! On Sep-03-11 at 23:48:07 PDT, seller added the following information: It was just brought to my attention that there is a typo on the mileage. The cars speedometer shows 79,736. I'm guessing do to its age that it would be 179,736 as I have no way to confirm. This is where the typo accord as the 6 was some how left off the end and I did not catch that in my proof reading before posting. My humblest apologies! I have also been asked "How bad is the freeze plug leak?". Its bad enough that I would not try to drive it more than about 20miles with the radiator cap loose preventing pressure buildup. I have a VERY GOOD local mechanic friend that would replace the the freeze plug for about $200 should you desire to do that here. Otherwise you can tackle the project yourself for about $30 dollars in parts.
