Unfortunate minor engine fire spoils a wonderful car, fortunately very little damage, engine didn't get any water in it. Sold for spares or possible rebuild. CLEAR TITLE. Car must be paid for and collected within 3 days of auction end. http://1975jaguarxj6l46kmiles.shutterfly.com/pictures/110 NO RESERVE ABSOLUTE AUCTION STARTING AT $ 19.75- Please read entire listing, look at all pictures and view all 6 videos before asking questions, as you will surely find the answer you are looking for in the listing Wonderful 1 owner* Beverly Hills California Blue Plate 1975 Jaguar XJ6L 45,948 with miles all other questions gladly answered, will ship overseas if required using Schumacher cars lines: This car was purchased new at Hornburg Jaguar, off of Sunset Drive, in Los Angeles CA by it's original Beverly Hills Lady owner of 28 years, finished in Classic Silver with black interior, the car still looks absolutely stunning, even after 36 years. The car was parked up in 2007, when she got too old to drive it, and she finally gave it to her gardener in 2010, who had it parked at his home, as he didn't have a driving license. The car was started regularly, and his son would drive it around the block on a regular basis, and the car has always had current registration, at some point in the last few years California white plates were issued, as the car only retained it's rear plate. The car itself starts, runs and drives with no problem, the engine does not overheat or smoke, see videos, gearbox, brakes, and sreeing are deemed in good working order, but since the car has been pretty much sitting for almost 5 years, the only drive was around the block as evidensed by the video, and other than a distant noise from the front left wheel, you can just about make out a little squeak in the video soundtrack, the car was quiet and smooth, shifted very well and had good feel from the power steering and brakes. The services books, manuals and all tools, save the wheel brace were not handed over to the gardener, so do not come with the vehicle. The body is in excellent shape as you would expect from a Southern California car, with no noticeable signs of any damage or damage repair. All the gaps and shuts are excellent and appear original as evidenced by the video, the car stillretains it's original emission control and manufacturer's stickers. The left side of the car has some bubbling limited to a small part of the rear wheel well, see picture, the underside of the fender lip is rock solid, as is the rear door shut and there is a quarter size bubble on the lower front left fender, see picture, both apparently caused by the car being parked too close to the sprinklers. The chassis itself appears solid and rust free, with the normally notorious spare wheel well in excellent and solid condition. The floor pans appear in good order, with just a small amount of surface rust on the underside of the sills as you would expect on a car of this age. There is however one small area on the underneath of the driver's side where a small section seems to have rusted through, see picture, but it is localised and is nothing to be concerned about. Please go to this car's listing website: http://1975jaguarxj6l46kmiles.shutterfly.com/ click on the pictures and videos icon, the double click for the 96 pictures in hi def, go to the video icons and then press full screen for the full effect, especially for the ride along video # 4 make sure you look at all pictures and all 4 videos of the car. The interior is excellent, all the seats are in as new condiiton, the door trims are also very nice, carpets and headliner and sunvisors appear as new. There is however a small crack in the dash in front of the driver, the rest is fine and not degradated, the little central pacel shelf could do with being relined. All the intruments, including the clock, work well with the exception of the left side fuel gauge which is intermittent. The light bulb on the temperature gauge needs to be replaced. All 4 of the electric windows go up and down quickly as you would expect from a well maintained low mileage vehicle. The car will certainly need a full service and recommission before being used regularly,or undertaking any cross country trips, so plan on having the car towed for safety reasons. Please only bid if you have the funds ready in cash to pay for the car at close of auction, please ask all questions and have all inspections carried out prior to bidding, and definately before the end of the auction, not after. If you have realistic expectations you will not be disappointed. Remember this is the rare L version standing for Long ( wheel Base), giving much needed extra rear legroom. In their day these cars were chauffeur drive for successful businessmen............On Aug-29-11 at 14:19:21 PDT, seller added the following information: here is the link: http://1975jaguarxj6l46kmiles.shutterfly.com/pictures/111 to the pictures post fire as some of you are experiencing difficulty opeing the other link at the top of the description.
