Vehicle Detail
1949 Willys Jeepster Phaeton with the ultra rare 6 cylinder Lightning engine. The jeepster went through a complete frame off restoration leaving everything rebuilt or NOS including a rebuilt engine. This vehicle comes from a collection of very rare and exotic cars that all went through extensive restorations where only perfection was excepted. This vehicle was restored to be 100% correct and original, or close to, as it was when leaving the factory in 1949. The frame was cleaned, blasted, primed, and under coated as well as undersides of body. Everything is 100% operational including the original motorola radio and fog lamps mounted on the front. Interior is in excellent shape and in super crisp condition including all storage bags for side curtins and tool kit pouch. Storage bag for side curtins is mounted on rear of back seat. Vehicle was driven less then100miles since restoration and kept in a climate controlled garage. It comes with restoration doc's and a NY state transferrable registration. Registration is in hand and free of liens. This vehicle is being sold as is and can be viewed any time prior to end of this auction. Please no trades, ridiculious offers, or tire kickers. Reasonable offers will be entertained from serious buyers only. If you would like to see add't pics of the vehicle please feel free to ask. To answer some add't questions This vehicle is still operated by a 6 volt system. It was always a 6 cylinder and remains a true 6 cylinder today. it was not originaly a 4 cylinder switched out. All mechaincals where rebuilt or new including- brake lines, brakes, fuel lines, wire harness, sending units, clutch, master cylinder, engine, radiator, including a working bell under the drivers floor board. the list goes on and on. We are only the second owners of the vehicle and restoration costs exceeded 50K. On Aug-27-11 at 07:34:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Just a interesting tid bit from a fellow e-bayer only approx 600 of the 3000 made had a 6 cylinder for power. Indeed this makes this jeepster one very rare vehicle and partial the reason why i own it. I'm sure this will open all kinds of speculation between myself n other loyal jeepster fans here but regardless of what you might think is original, aftermarket, authentic, or misplaced heres the vehicle in plain sight and its being offered for sale at a fair price. What is in the pictures is what you are getting if you are lucky enough to be the high bidder. Reserve is well below costs of restoration and i would love to see it go to a buyer who will appreciate it more than i. It deserves to be in a good home where a buyer can sunday drive it, walk into his garage and smile at it, drive it with pride and treat it like a achievement, not have it just sitting in a museum like garage tucked in the corner. My collection has become more of a chore than a hobby and i am looking to narrow it down a bit. Bid and i guarentee you'll be the owner of 1 very sweet jeepster with plenty of people in complete jealousness of you where ever your travels bring you. I own cars built in super low production numbers, example as low as 3 and even a few 1 of a kind, and whenever i invite guests to see my collection, approx 125 cars, they'll always congregate around the jeepster. Good luck guys and thanks for all the info forward about this very cool vehicle.
