Vehicle Detail
1981 DeLorean with 42,352 original miles. Automatic transmission. VIN# 4557, built in October 1981 (this is said to be the best build date for a DeLorean). I purchased this car in 2002 after being stored for several years. Many of the factory updates have previously been done. The car is in very clean original/restored condition. Car starts right up and runs, it also has fresh fuel in the tank. The car still needs some work to be drivable. This is a great opportunity for someone to purchase an original unabused DeLorean. I selling the car due to lack of space at home. Here is what has been done to the car recently: -Professionally cleaned fuel tank, new fuel pump, new fuel accumulator -New fuel injectors, ignition wire set, coil wire, new distributor cap -Zero miles on new Michelin Pilot tires -New water pump and thermostat -New coolant hoses -New cooling fan switch -Rebuilt brake calipers, new brake pads and fluid -New headliner material -Restored original wheels -New Battery -New door seals and struts on both doors, new torsion rod on driver's side -New hood struts, new struts on rear louvers -All glass is mint, all gauges and lights work, very nice original bumper ends, clean and straight stainless panels. Car also comes with original service manual, parts book, service bulletin book, Delorean floor mats and trunk mat. I am located in South Carolina and I am happy to recommend a reliable shipping company. I will accept a certified check or cash. The title is clear and in my name. I only ran it for a few minutes, since I felt it was getting too hot. I was told I need to "vent the cooling system", but this is where I stopped my work on car, since I lost my indoor storage a couple of months ago and ran out of time for a hobby of any kind. Car sits covered under a carport in South Carolina, Also, for the few minutes of running, I put it in gear and car did creep forward, but I felt transmission was "sluggish"?? I don't feel one could get in this and drive it away, the way it sits. I'm not a mechanic-- just a hobbyist that has a Delorean in his side yard.
