Vehicle Detail

1975 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, L-48 motor, factory 4-speed. Drivetrain: The motor is a freshly rebuilt replacement from another 75 corvette L-48 so it is NOT matching numbers but it is the same year and type. Motor runs perfectly and has less than 3,000 miles on it since the rebuild. Vortec heads, Edelbrock Performer carb and intake and a slightly bigger cam give this motor plenty of power. Doesn't overheat even in 95 degrees and traffic. The transmission shifts great and the clutch is nearly new. The suspension is in o.k. shape, little play in the steering but nothing major. Overall the car runs and drives very well. '69 style headers and side-pipes with fiberglass covers, car sounds fantastic, loud when you put your foot in it but not too loud cruising. Tires are due replacing but do have enough life left for a little bit of travel should you decide to drive it home. Exterior: Silver and gray '78 anniversary style paint, chrome and black fiberglass sidepipe covers. Has the 80-82 style rear bumper. Overall the body is in very good shape, there is a deep scratch on top of the driver-side frond fender about 3 inches long, one small crack on the passenger-side front fender near the windshield and 4 small holes (2 on each side) at the front of both front fender wells where the previous owner had installed an indy-style front bumper which I will include with the car in case it is desired. I've included photos of each of these imperfections. Other than that there are minor scuffs/scratches here and there but nothing major. My best guess is that the paint is approximately 5 years or so old. The sidepipe covers are in rough shape, the chrome is flaking a lot on both and the black paint is bubbling up a good bit. My plan was to just have them painted silver or gray to match. Has the original rally-style wheels with chrome trim rings and center caps but one of the centers is missing, I think a replacement would cost around $50. Interior: The interior is silver, overall great shape, I've replaced a few pieces of the console and painted others. Door panels look very good except for just a few spots around the edges. Leather seats show wear but no major rips or tears. Tilt/telescopic wheel functions perfectly. Weatherstripping is in need of replacing and I have a kit purchased already that I will include with the car. Carpet needs replacing but the floor mats cover the majority of the rough spots. Mechanical: All lights work, headlights go up and down perfectly, blinkers and hazards function as they should. One of the taillights is missing a trim ring around the center portion of it. All the gauges work, horn works. The wiper motor has been replaced but only works every once-in-a-while, I'm thinking there is a loose ground that I haven't been able to locate. Radio w/cd player works but has been wired to a toggle switch instead of the ignition. Factory air conditioning, the blower turns on but doesn't blow any air out of the vents. Manual windows and door locks, the driver's window is a little hard to crank, passenger side works well. Door locks work well. Engine bay is fairly clean and orderly. I've tried to be as honest and clear as possible as to the condition of the car, it's no show car but it's a great driver/10-footer and you can have a ton of fun with it! I reserve the right to end the auction early as I have the car for sale locally. If you have any questions or would like to talk about the car message me and I can give you my phone number. I'm in Birmingham and Hoover everyday if you want to see the car in person. I can assist with loading if shipping is necessary
