Vehicle Detail

1968 TRIUMPH TR250 Roadster for sale This is a triumph TR250 roadster with wire wheel and overdrive options. The car is in overall good condition. Original, Complete and Runs well. This car is currently registered, plated, and on the road. the commission number is: CD5426LO; the engine number is: CC4783E; paint is 66 and trim is 11 Mileage is unknown. Recent work includes: clutch hydraulics new; new tune-up; new gas tank; new radiator; new water pump; new coolant hoses; rebuilt brake master; new rear wheel brake cylinders; new GL-4 tranny fluid; rebuilt carbs; rebuilt fuel pump. Needs: windshield washer spray switch (have 2 -clear hooters and Lucas: neither work!)- washer pump is working, however; overdrive to be reviewed to make operable (switch and solenoid are working normally); windshield gasket (have new-needs install); radio (comes with original radio-not working); speedo work (cable?); some rubber gaskets need to be replaced; bead blasting of the wire wheels- they are a bit grubby; Heater control valve (presently by-passed). Keys work the ignition only. Floorpans are solid, but there is some rust along the periphery. Sills, and rockers will need to be replaced. Fenders are solid but do have some bondo (rear wings) in them along the top (as evidenced by cracking in the paint). Chrome is in generally good condition with some pitting evidenced. The paint job is poor on the car. Hood, boot, doors, front valance are all excellent. The top is good but does have a 3 inch rip on the passenger side: plastic window faded. Tires are serviceable but should be replaced. Has a wire-wheel spare. Suspension/front end bits will need to be refreshed with new bushings/rubber as everything appears to be original to the car. Steering wheel has some defects. Seat belt mounting points will need to be strengthened along the outside of the interior area of the car. Provenance: I am at least the third owner of this car. Best guess is that this car was originally sold and enjoyed in this area (western NY state). No prior maintenance/rebuild information is available. Car looks great from 10 feet! Engine, clutch and transmission are all in excellent condition. Brakes are good- front left caliper seems to need bleeding more than usual...will need to be reviewed. Emergency brake works but the pawl action is lacking...Car sat for almost 30 years before I rescued it this February from a garage in Suburban Rochester, NY Dash is original and has some cracking. All of the electrical system works well including all lights, switches and accessories except as mentioned above. Interested parties are welcomed to see and test drive prior to bidding. Will help on my end with accommodating your shipping/transport needs; arrangements need to be handled by the buyer-I myself will not coordinate your shipping details. Car should not be driven super-long distance due to the poor condition of the tires (tread is excellent- but some dry rot). I will be happy to keep the car in dry storage for as long as the buyer needs if full payment is received in advance and upon prior verbal discussion and agreement with the buyer. Comes with: Tonneau cover (needing some snaps); Original EC Convertible top boot; Some spares (fuel pump e.g); Factory manuals; other parts like extra badges, lenses, bulbs and other sundries; Clean NY transferrable registration.
