Vehicle Detail

What you are looking at here is my baby. A 1994 red Mazda Miata. I believe I am the fourth owner. I'm selling it simply because I have too many cars, and I need to clear some out. I have driven this vehicle maybe two times a week since I purchased it. It is in pretty good shape for a 17 year old car. So lets talk about the good stuff. This is a five speed manual. It is a blast to drive. Gas mileage is very good. The air conditioning blows hard and cold. It has a CD player with an XM (subscription necessary) as well as AM/FM receiver. Also, it has an iPod/iPhone jack that I installed. While I've owned it, I've kept it under an awning year round. From 10 to 15 feet away it's very pretty (get closer, and you can see it's wear). It has leather seats, and the convertible cover (I think it's called a boot) is the same camel (tan) color. The vehicle was inspected in July 2011 and passed. The tires were new in November 2010 and have a lot of wear left to them. The front and rear breaks plus rotors were replaced on June 2nd of 2011. In addition the drive shaft was replaced in April of 2011. The engine runs strong and steady. It accelerates very smoothly. The electric windows work, thought they are slow. Now lets talk about the not so good stuff. The rag top has a few small holes in it, and the zipper is frayed in one spot. The glass needs to be opened/closed carefully. I was looking at replacing the top, which if you DIY can be as cheap as $250. You can drive about in a downpour and be fine... I just felt like it was getting to be time. About once or twice a month, when I'm driving and I go to shift, the clutch goes all the way to the floor. I then pump it 2-3 times, and it works fine. I believe the seals on the slave cylinder are going bad. This is a pretty common issue with older Miatas. Changing out the slave cylinder is not very hard or expensive. A new Bendix Slave Cylinder from Advanced Auto is about $35 USD and the install only takes about 45 minutes. The leather seats have a few cracks. I recently received my Chatham County Tax assessment, and they in their infinite wisdom declare this beautiful Miata to be worth $1,770. :) Thanks for looking and feel free to bid with utter abandon!
