1962 Cadillac Sedan DeVille Series 63 4 Window • California Car • 84K Miles Custom Paint • Custom Interior Certified Cinema Car as a Primary Vehicle in the 2006 Movie, Dreamgirls (Which Starred Eddie Murphy, Jamie Foxx and Beyonce) This 1962 Cadillac Sedan DeVille includes Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, 2-Way Power Seat, Automatic Transmission, V8 Engine (with Hydraulic Valve Lifters) PLUS the "Optional" Push-Button AM Radio. CALIFORNIA Car, NO TMU, NO EXEMPT, mileage on title!! Yes, this car was featured in the 2006 movie "Dreamgirls" - if you do a youtube search for the song "Cadillac," you'll be able to see this car in the video. Appeared in the "bridge scene," as well. From what we know, Dreamworks production company bought the car for the movie, painted it gold (it was originally white with a red interior) and redid the interior - new seat upholstery, new carpets, new upholstery on doors. NOW, this car HAD to be in VERY good condition for the production company to have wanted to buy it - they make movies and are NOT in the bodyshop or car restoration business, however, they spared no expense in making this vehicle 100% mechanically sound and safe. This car HAD to have started out as a superior canvas for the movie. OK, so they made it all "Dreamgirlie" by painting it gold, redoing the interior, tuning it up, doing whatever else it needed done and stuck a set of Big Ol' whitewall tires on it. Then, they sat Beyonce & Eddie Murphy in it, shot the scenes and called their buddies at Cinema Vehicle Services... Cinema Vehicle Services is based in California and they are in the business of buying and selling cars for movies. They bought this one and the convertible Caddy that was also in the movie. They sold the convertible themselves and took this one to a Mecum Classic Car Auto Auction. A friend of a friend, having LOVED the Supremes and the idea that Beyonce's "sweet" (his words, not mine) derriere sat in THIS car, bought it at the auction and had it trucked out here to the other side of the Mississippi. The new "prize" (arriving by Horseless Carriage from California) pulled up in front of his house in Suburbia U.S.A. to be "greeted" by his wife who was none too happy with his purchase. Of course, she lacked a total appreciation for the era this car came from, was unable to appreciate the craftsmanship Cadillac conveyed through this fabulous vehicle in the early '60's and I think, although I am not sure, wasn't fully supportive of her husband's new-found Beyonce obsession. ...so he asked his friend (who's our friend) if he knew of anyone who could sell it for him just to keep marital peace. ...and here we are. We got the car and had our mechanic go over it from head to tail. It has a new battery, all new brakes and wheel cylinders, 4 new tires, new exhaust, the car has been tuned up and runs like, well, a DREAMgirl! Mechanically-wise, this car has been TOTALLY gone over, by the Dreamworks folks and by us. When we went to pick it up from our mechanic, he couldn't WAIT to rack it for us to show us the undercarriage. He, being in total appreciation and awe, was completely impressed with how CLEAN and intact the underneath was - especially since these cars were known to "not" be so clean...and, the fact it's 50 years old. He made it a point to show us every nook and cranny as well as how solid the exterior panels were - not full of filler. Sure, there's been a little "plastic surgery" done to her cosmetically on the outside, but not much. I took a TON of photos while she was racked so that you could see how solid she is from the ground up. (on our website.) Is she a Show Car? No, but she can be shown...proudly. AND, if you were so inclined to lovingly refinish her with just the right nips and tucks, she'd ABSOLUTELY be the finest, show-quality (AND award-quality!) '62 Caddy around. (This last caveat is only meant to let you know that she's an awesome driver "as is," but that if you were looking to make an investment in just the right investment car, SHE'S IT!!!!!)
