Vehicle Detail
Here we have a rare find. A 1970 Chevrolet chevelle/malibu ordered in a special order 1970 buick color with a 4 speed and special order SS dash guage package. This car was sold new to Holz chevrolet in hales corners WI (Still exists today). Since new it has only had a couple of owners and was last on the road in the early 90's. As of now the car sits as a prime restoration candidate for that collector that wants something truly unique. The car has only turned over 67,000 miles since new and retains all of it's original parts. Such as...the 350-300hp motor is still there with the vin # stamp and engine suffix code CNJ. Other than the original exhaust manifolds that come with the car every other part does not look like they have been removed. Car still has original gm stamped hoses and tower clamps holding them in place. The M-20 4 speed is there with a casting # of 3925661. The bell housing with #3899621 is there but has not fared well. Mice or some other critters had taken up residency inside and have corroded the housing away and that part would need replacing. The rear end is a 12 bolt 3:31 posi unit correct for the car and had the code CCF stamped on it. Car even has the rear support bars on it that all SS equipped cars came with. Car was built in the Kansas plant and trim tag is as follows. 13637, 93507, trim 771 paint - -, 04E and 00643. As told by the cowl tag the paint code with 2 -- lines means a special order. The build sheet which was found in the backseat also confirms the special order paint color. The color of this car is a 1970 buick burnished saddle color. Under the carpet the paint is like new and other places on the car the color shows. The interior is really nice for the age as shown in the pictures. The worst parts being the carpet by the pedals and the headliner that has some chewed holes in it. Console, seats, door panels are all super nice. The neat part is on the build sheet is shows a code U14 IP Guages. this I believe is the code for the SS dash and guage cluster. This was only on cars equipped like this. SS build sheets did not have this code due to it was standard on the SS package already. And confirmation of this is another second build sheet found attatched to the first one for the next sequential car on the assembly line that was an SS car destined for texas! (pretty neat to have a sheet for a different car along side the correct one). Car has no holes in the trunk or floors. Driver side quarter skin was replaced along time ago, other than that it is all original metal. Fenders need a patch on the lower end and are more than usable, door bottoms/seams are very clean. No rust around window frames and pictures show front dash area are real clean with original tan paint on it. Excuse the orange paint on the underside of car. This is the second car I have owned to have come out of the late 70's early 80's with this type of treatment!! Car comes with all 5 of its original 14" rallyes on vintage tires. Over all a real nice project for someone that doesn't want to pay the SS pricing but have the next best thing but with more rarity. Keep in mind car does not run at this time. It can be moved as the linkage is free and brakes work. Possibly a classic case of the term 1 OF 1??? any questions call Jason @ 414-688-060 four or Bob@ 414-303-531 six. car is located in oak creek WI. 90 miles north of chigcago or 30 miles north of IL border. The slotted mags have been sold and are not with the car anymore.
