I’ve been driving my Saab 900 SE turbo convertible for 5 years and have enjoyed every minute I’ve been in it! However, with a move coming up we’re switching to a later model Saab wagon, and this one reluctantly goes! The Saab is a fair looker, but one heck of a runner! Totally stock with upgraded brakes about 10K miles ago (drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic pads), the only thing I’ve had to replace in the past 50K miles was the water pump. It has never failed to start and go, and go it does! Engine remains powerful, solid 5 speed manual transmission, clutch and tight suspension backs it up. All-weather hi-performance Z-rated BFG radials with at least 50% tread give excellent handling and perform well rain, shine and snow (I’ve been amazed at how well the Saab goes in a full-blast northern AZ snowstorm). New battery last summer. I keep all my vehicles well maintained, all synthetic fluids (including Mobil 1 oil), filters and belts all new and ready to go. Completely reliable car – this is my 3rd Saab and I’m sticking with them! The 2.0L turbo uses no oil between regular 5K changes. Recent tune with platinum plugs, fuel filter, etc. Very economical, gets solid 28 MPG on freeway, 24 MPG in mixed driving. You can run regular, midgrade or premium fuel, the computer adjusts the performance level accordingly. I personally run midgrade and find little difference between that and premium. The convertible top was replaced 5 years ago and operates perfectly, no holes or leaks. Body has no dents or dings but a number of little scratches, chips and scrapes. Brand new windshield, all window glass is good including the defroster equipped rear window, right side mirror glass is half missing. Drivers seat well worn, passenger and back seats along with carpet are decent, some checking on leather tonneau cover. Trunk is clean with pass-thru for skis or other long objects into back seat. Radio and SID (trip computer) work well, has 6 CD changer in truck with 2 magazines, the CD works fine. Some bad pixels in climate control section (a used display that tests good is included). Heat switches between top up/top down mode as it should. A/C system was rebuilt 3 years ago but is no longer holding a charge for long – works when you charge it but leaks within a week so that needs repair if you want A/C. I drive with the top down pretty much always, so this hasn’t been a priority. The heat/defrost/vents work great and keep the car comfortable with the top down even in 40 degree weather. Power memory seats, power windows, cruise control, tilt/telescope wheel all working; power mirrors need new switch installed (switch is included). Has aftermarket center console, gives you the cup holder Saab left out and storage for cell phone, etc. along with an arm rest. New rear muffler and pipe. With tons of power, 28 MPG economy and cheap upkeep, this would be a great introductory car for someone interested in switching to a Saab, very easy to maintain. Excellent commuter. long distance runner or back road scorcher, great for college student or anyone who wants/needs an inexpensive convertible. There’s no rust on body or chassis, along with the excellent drivetrain this Saab should go on a long time! Standard terms – Saab is sold as-is, where-is with no warranties expressed or implied.
