Vehicle Detail
This auction is for a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air 2 door hard top. I just acquired this car a couple of weeks ago from the estate of the original owner who ordered this car new 4/25/1957. I still have the original order form and owners manual from new. As you can see in the pictures this car is as solid as you will ever find and completely original. The son of the family started to restore car and stripped paint of the top and removed some of the moldings and just quit. After I bought car I put all the original parts back on car to keep the originallity of car. The top has been rust treated and will need to be repainted back white. I have cleaned dust and cob webs off and removed the wore out carpet so you can see just how nice the floors are. Car is running and driving but will need the gas tank removed and cleaned ( I have a gas can in front to move car around). Included in this auction is a new gas tank, sending unit and strap kit. This car is very rare being it has a 265 V-8 (engine code F425C) and a 3 speed transmission on column. Here is a list of options that were ordered: V-8 standard trans, tinted glass, w/w Tires, red and white paint, radio, heater, back up lights, 2 rear veiw mirrors. If you are looking for an original 57 chevrolet to restore yourself and want the best here it is. Now for terms of sale. Buyer agrees to send a $300.00 deposit at end of auction and pay balance with in 10 days of close of sale. Buyer also agrees to arrange shipping and pick-up of car. If you have any questions please call me at 912-337-2647 and ask for Robby. I am selling car with a Georgia Bill of Sale and Registration. The state of Georgia was not a title state untill 1962 and therefore does not issue titles for vehicles 1962 and older. On Aug-05-11 at 20:52:42 PDT, seller added the following information: I have had alot of interest in this car this first day with several questions that I want to anwser for all. First car has been painted one time in the 60's and is about all worn off revealing the original paint. Second the car has no body filler and has never been wrecked or repaired. Third there are 3 small rust issues on car, the lower front fenders under rocker molding have a small place about the size of a quarter that would be easy to fix along with the passenger side rear in rocker panel about the size of a nickel under rocker molding (thats All). The rest of car is rust free. Forth question is about the engine being a 265 V-8. I have had several people comment that 1957 chevrolets were 283 v-8's only that is not true, the original owners manual list 265 V-8's in the line plus the engine numbers decode as followed. F being Flint MI 4 being the forth month (April) 25 being the day of month and finally C being a 265 V-8 with a 3 speed manual transmission.
