fretjoe store 2001 MERCEDES BENZ SL 500 This vehicle is in excellent shape. I am the second owner, and bought the car when it was 2 years old with 8,500 miles on it. Most of the miles I have put on it were interstate miles between Tuscaloosa Alabama where I live and Birmingham Alabama where my business is. The car has always been garage kept. It has received scheduled maintenance. The tires are in great shape and have only 10,000 miles on them. There has never been a smoker in the vehicle. The car has the AMG package, It also has a 6 cd changer located in the trunk. The car has never been wrecked, the only dings are from stones on the highway, and are very small. I have done my best to show them in the photos, they are on the front edge of the hood, and are normal for a car of this age. The hard top is included, along with a stand and cover to be used when the top is off of the car. The convertible top is in excellent condition, with no snags, tears or signs of wear. The convertible top windows are all clear with no evidence of clouding. The LED display for the heating A/C sometimes does not display all of the fields. The functionality of the heating A/C is fine, and you can still see what the setting is when some fields do not display. It has been this way for about 5 years and I didn't think it was a big enough problem to warrant a repair bill. I have included a picture of the display where not all the fields are displayed so that you can see what I am talking about. All in all this vehicle is in excellent shape, the ride is solid and the handling is everything you would expect from an SL-500.
