Start Slideshow Stop Slideshow Next Image Previous Image The 1970, the Cougar appearance was similar to the 1969 model, however there were numerous changes inside and out. It now sported a new front end which featured a pronounced center hood extension and electric shaver grille similar to the 1967 and 1968 Cougars. Federally mandated locking steering columns appeared inside, and the aforementioned new nose and taillight bezels updated the look on the outside. The 300 hp (224 kW) 351 "Cleveland" V8 was now available for the first time, though both the Cleveland and Windsor engines were available, if the buyer selected the base model 2-barrel motor. The 390 FE engine was now dropped, and the Boss 302 and 428CJ soldiered on.What you see here is one of the 1,997 Cougar XR-7 luxury convertibles produced in 1970. The car is in great driving condition and has been finished in Eliminator trim and looks great. With power steering, power brakes, power top and A/C, the car has everything you would want in a Cougar. The paint on the car is in very good condition and appears to have been freshly resprayed. There are no notable imperfections to the paint or Eliminator decals. The power convertible top is equally as nice with no tears or splits and appears to be new. The rear window is glass. Both front and rear bumpers look great with no major pitting or scratches. The stainless trim does have some minor pitting and scratches. Inside, the seats are in great condition and show no major wear. The same goes for the door panels, carpet and dash. All gauges are in good working order as well as the interior lights. The headlights turn off and on but the doors are currently not working. The sentential blinkers work in the rear as they should. The dash is free of any buckling or cracking. Under the hood the 351 Cu In V8 runs great and has been freshly painted. The car comes with power steering, power brakes and A/C. The A/C is currently inoperable. The motor runs great and extremely strong. The car starts with no problems and is nicely detailed under the hood. In the trunk, you will find the original style trunk matting. A Refundable deposit in the amount of $500.00 must be received within Twenty-Four(24)hours of the auctions close either by Master Card, Visa or PayPal. The buyer has seven(7) days from close of auction to inspect the vehicle. If the vehicle is not to your liking within this seven day inspection period then your deposit will be refunded 100%. Once full payment has been received, Seller will fax a copy of clear title, Bill of sale, Buyers guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via fax.
