As it can be seen on the pictures, it is an authentic, non-modified German version. Back in 2005, this W113 was completely disassembled and parts were boxed in. Cars body was taken to the very bare metal, and front section floor panels, rocker panels as well as quarter panels and wheel wells were replaced using authentic Mercedes parts imported from Germany. Receipts of those parts are available and would be included in the cars documents package. Upon completion of the body work, car was primed using top of the line catalyzed primer and blocked by hand. There was also a full interior restoration, and carpet, seats and all the leather parts were replaced. Cars top was also replaced using a top quality canvas top. Every single chrome in the car was redone and the engine was checked for compression (it was within the parameters) so I had the starter, alternator, fuel injection pump and distributor redone. Also, brakes were removed, and front disks and calipers were replaced. Rear brake shoes and brake cylinders were replaced. Clutch disk and plate were within parameters, however top clutch master cylinder as well as lower clutch slave, were replaced. 4 brand new tires were installed in the car, and now probably they have 3K miles on them. Front and rear shock absorbers were also replaced and the wheels were balanced and the car properly aligned. Original Becker Radio is not functional and it would need to be fixed or replaced. Also, windshield wipers stop working about 2 years ago. I have not really looked at them since car goes to the road only upon checking weather.com to avoid even the slightless rain.This car has ever since been used regularly, and it has a few blemishes on its paint. Little background of the W113: The Mercedes-Benz W 113, designed by Paul Bracq, were produced from 1963 through 1971. They were known as the "pagoda roof" SL. The W 113 replaced the W 198 SL in 1963 and were in turn replac113042100ed by the R107 SL in 1971. Production began in July 1963 with the 2.3 liter 230 SL and ceased in January 1967. These models were commonly 4-speed manual transmission cars, but a 4-speed automatic transmission was also available and popular for U.S. market cars.
