Vehicle Detail
Welcome To My Auction Description I have a 1969 Chevrolet Camaro convertible X22 that is a factory 396 c.i., 350 horsepower car. It came original with a 79 paint code, which is Rallye Green, 711 trim code, which is standard black interior. The X22 is a Super Sport 396 c.i. deluxe option car. Built in the third week of January 1969. The rear end is a multi-leaf 12-bolt rear end with either a BL (3.08) or BE (4.10). I am unsure, as the stamping is light. Transmission for the car is unknown and I do not wish to speculate whether it is a four-speed or an automatic. The car was a heater-only, AC delete and will need a complete restoration, as you can see. Included with auction, among several other items, is a 396 c.i. date code correct as pictured, with heads & 350 horsepower intake. Condition of car: Needs total restoration as you can see. Car was worked on before I received it and someone removed the quarter panels prematurely. The quarters you see in the car are slip on quarters that I installed to maintain the integrity of the body while metal work is done. Car will need complete floor pans that are offered by several distributors, including here on Ebay, along with full convertible quarter panels and a complete dashboard. Please study pictures provided very closely and make your own determination if this car is right for you. The front sheet metal is in excellent condition and believed to be original GM. The hood, upper and lower valance, and lower fenders are GM as they came from another Camaro I built. I saved them specifically for this car because of their quality. The convertible top is with the car along with cocktail shakers and pumps. I have several sets of usable GM bumpers that will need re-chromed, door regulators, some window glass, and other items that will be going with the car to aid in restoration. Please do not assume anything and view all pictures closely. Feel free to ask any questions about condition of the car. As for the condition of the 396, it has been hot-tanked and fluxed along with heads. Both are in excellent condition. Motor measures standard bore and may need machined .030” when built. I have taken pictures of all casting codes and numbers. Let me know if you have any questions with them. Terms of Auction: I am very easy to deal with and will assist in any way possible. However, I must set some guidelines for sale. First, and most important, car is to be paid for by cash upon pickup, with no exceptions. I am sorry to inconvenience anyone that feels uncomfortable carrying large amounts of cash, but we live in a technological age to where anything is possible and my bank will not clear any checks, money orders, or other bank checks, until they have cleared the other bank, which takes up to 2 business weeks. Second, car must be picked up in person within 10 days of auction’s end, unless you wish to have car shipped. If so, car must be paid in full and payment must have cleared my bank before car will be released. Also, shipping is solely the responsibility of the buyer. Basically, if you choose to have car shipped, after receiving money & money is cleared, I will release it to whomever you wish. This DOES NOT include any overseas transactions. This car is for sale to the lower 48 states only. I have a clear Kentucky title in my name that will be notarized and given to winning bidder that states car’s color, and shows 25,000 actual miles on title. I will assist in loading any way possible after car has been paid in full, no part of car will leave until paid. Last, I do require a non-refundable $100.00 deposit within 48 hours of the auction’s end to cover auction fees. Please email me with any questions including terms of sale, however, I will not negotiate cash in person. PLEASE VIEW ALL PHOTOS CAREFULLY AND UNDERSTAND THAT THIS IS AN EXTENSIVE PROJECT THAT WILL BE WORTH A LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY WHEN FINISHED AND WILL GIVE SOMEONE YEARS OF SATISFACTION, ALTHOUGH I MUST REMIND YOU THAT THIS IS A PROJECT AND WILL NEED EVERYTHING. HOWEVER, WITH ENOUGH TIME THIS IS A VERY BUILDABLE CLASSIC CAMARO. I ENCOURAGE INSPECTION BEFORE AUCTION’S END. JUST SEND ME A MESSAGE TO SET UP A MEETING IF NEED BE. DCAMLAWSONOn Jul-25-11 at 21:43:38 PDT, seller added the following information: I want to update some information on this auction, so please read. I have been getting several good questions and comments about my Camaro so I want to share some more information with the bidders. This is a real X22 Super Sport Convertible with matching v.i.n numbers and I hope to include some more photos of the hidden V.I.N. numbers soon. I have also researched the transmission with the help of a kind fellow ebayer and concluded this car to have shipped from Norwood with an automatic transmission. To be a muncie equipped car the factory drilled an additional hole behind the driver side head for the speedometer cable and plugged the hole under the brake booster. This car has disc brakes for the front and drums for the rear which would have been standard on the X22. As to a little more on the condition description of the car. The doors are possibly useable, however I paid very little attention to them as I was going to find N.O.S. or better condition doors to match the value and quality of what the car should be restored to. They are not the quality of the front sheet metal. I have no trunk lid for the car as I also was going to find G.M. instead of ordering repro. And the full floor panel that I previously stated will need, is the complete trunk to firewall that includes all bracing and frame rails, this will give the car an excellent uncut and correct foundation. Now that this piece has been produced I would not dream of sectioning together left and right floor panels and then seaming the trunk to the frame rails and then to the floor panels, well I hope you get the idea. Last thing, is the rocker panels are in very good condition. I do have other items not pictured. I did not get the chance today but plan on adding more photos and information on other items that you will get when you come to pick-up the car. I simply was going to throw them in the car for pick-up, but I have had some questions about what all is included, so I plan to get that on here a.s.a.p. I believe I have inner and outer rear fender wells, a good steering column, G.M. bumpers, possibly two sets and other items. Nothing else major but as I said I will get it on here. And for the question asked the most, I do not have a buy-it-now in mind and plan to let the auction run its course to be fair to myself and others that plan on bidding. However, my goal is to sell the car for the most possible money, and if someone wants to buy it outright, then shoot me an offer that I cannot refuse and we may go from there. However, I understand that you the bidder want to buy the car as low as possible, so I do not expect this to happen. Either way it will sell on Ebay to be fair to them. Thank you for your interest in my car, and again please ask any questions you may have.On Jul-26-11 at 21:45:59 PDT, seller added the following information: I have the photos of the extra stuff I have that goes with car. I have also added the photos of the hidden v.i.n. numbers. One is from the top of the firewall and the other is located under the blower motor opening. What I have dug out includes the following: A set of G.M. fenders from another build that are in decent shape, a driveshaft that I believe came on the car, a factory bumper jack, a set of rocker panel covers that goes under the carpet to shield the wiring harness, a set of rear inner fenders and one rear outer, a factory heater box, the convertible cocktail shakers and I have the aluminum pumps also, 2 sets of very good bumpers to be rechromed they are twice as heavy as reproduction with another rear bumper and two sets of the rear bumper guards, a good steering column, door regulators and I found a factory SS hood that seems to be in good restorable condition. I hope these updates help and look forward to any questions you may have.
