1971 GTO Judge 2- DR HT - 455 - 4 Spd - AC - Arizona Car! Here is an Awesome car; a PHS documented, real 1971 GTO JUDGE 2-Dr HT that has been an Arizona car for most of its' life! It was built in Fremont, California and was sold new at The Clatworthy Company in Fort Morgan, Colorado and I am told it was taken to Arizona a short time later. This impressive Muscle car was recently purchased from the collection of a gentleman right here in Phoenix who has owned it since 1978! It is a real JUDGE as verified by not only the PHS documentation but also the original Build Sheet that was found in surprisingly nice condition inside the car! This is one of only 357 GTO JUDGE 2-Dr HT's built in 1971 and is the last year of production for the JUDGE making it one of the Rarest GTO's to own! Additionally, this car was one of the feature cars in the GTO Pictorial by MBI Publishing Co.! The sheet metal is all original to this car and there are no patches or replaced panels or any attempt to hide or cover anything up. The floor pans and trunk floor are original and rock solid as are the inner and outer rockers, doors and fenders. There is no evidence on the car of any prior accident history! The chrome and stainless trim is generally in exceptionally nice original condition and the glass is all in good shape. The trunk pan is in beautiful rust free condition and the spare tire is still there as well as a tire cover! The Enduro front bumper is in excellent condition as are the grills. Back in the mid 70's the original Laurentian Green color was replaced with a much more desirable and appealing Orbit Orange paint finish that has been color sanded and buffed to a high luster and looks fantastic, as my photos show! While not show car perfect, I would call it a gorgeous, driver quality paint job with only the occasional stone chip or mark associated with a car that has been driven and enjoyed! The complimenting Judge stripes add greatly to its' look and the only problem is all the interest the car gets every time you take it out for a ride! In the interest of full disclosure, I will mention that it has a couple small paint cracks in the front bumper and a faint dent on the side of the roof, but these do not detract in any way from the appeal or value of this sexy little GTO! The interior is, for the most part, totally redone and looks great! The carpets have been replaced as well as the seat covers, headliner and the dash pad is like new. The door panels are nice as well with only a small tear on the edge of one. The dash is in beautiful condition with day one chrome and the gauges are clean and bright! The gauges all work as they should other than the oil pressure and temp gauge and have been replaced with a new and probably more accurate replacements below the dash. The wipers work as do the radio, all of the running lights and the courtesy lights. The horn and the clock are not working. The hood tach works great and the air conditioning blows ICE COLD! Mechanically, this little GTO Muscle car appears to be in excellent condition and for the most part, has been completely rebuilt at some point. In 2002, the original engine was completely rebuilt and it has only been driven approx. 7000 miles since and the engine runs exceptionally strong! It is the numbers matching, original engine. The original hydramatic transmission has been replaced with a far more desirable 4-spd transmission and it shifts as it should and the synchro's are in good condition. The clutch is strong and the rear end is quiet and appears to have been rebuilt, as well. The front suspension is evident that it is fairly new and the rear springs and shocks are definitely new!. The exhaust is in good condition and the brakes stop great! The tires are P245/70R15 BFG Radial TA's and look like low mileage tires. The engine compartment has been nicely detailed at some point and is clean and very presentable! GTO's are some of the fastest appreciating and most desirable and sought after collector cars in the market today and now you can own a prime example that is ready for summertime cruising or show!
