I have for your consideration this 1979 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Regency. $.99 opening bid with no reserve! I obtained it from the estate of the original owner that bought it new in 1979. He worked for GM and kept this car in tip top condition and stored it indoors its entire life. 110,xxx original miles with no rust as it was never driven in winter (he had a truck also)! Where do I start? The car has the large and powerful 6.6 liter 403 cubic inch V-8 with four barrel carburetor. This is the same engine that came in the Smokey and the Bandit Trans Am's. No smoke with a minor oil leak. Red leather interior with power drivers seat. Power windows, locks, and trunk release. The trunk release works when it wants to. Air conditioning. You will have to put a new belt on the compressor for it to work though. The gentleman took it off during the winter for storage. The compressor does have freon. Original/working AM radio. The undercarriage is in excellent condition. Also, this car is equipped with a trailer package as he towed his small Airstream travel trailer with it. There is a Reese style platform hitch with a Kelsey Hayes trailer brake and a 7 pin round hookup. I believe the car has the Turbo 400 transmission. This car drives beautifully! Tons of power and it holds the road excellent. Excellent brakes. Working horn and lights. No overheating. Drive it anywhere. The clock even works! On all four doors there is a slight crack on the fake wood trim (this is very common) that does not go all of the way through. There is also some cracking on the armrests on the drivers and passengers doors on the front. The carpet is in excellent condition. The cigarette lighter works but the car is a non-smoker car! You even get the original owners manual in excellent condition. You will be hard pressed to find one of these in this condition with this mileage, especially with its history. This car is a joy and a comfort drive. The car is available for viewing and a test drive at my home in Holly Michigan zip code 48442. Local pickup only unless you arrange and pay for shipping yourself. There is a $200 absolute non-refundable deposit due by Paypal within 48 hours of the end of auction. The remaining balance is due in cash or local certified funds upon pickup within 7 days of the end of the auction. Again, the deposit is non-refundable! On Jul-23-11 at 12:40:57 PDT, seller added the following information: We took the car out for a test drive today and there is some smoke coming from the tail pipe with a slight miss at idle. We drove the car and it still gets up and goes with no problem. I am not a mechanic and want to be honest as that is my policy. I will inform the high bidder of this through "messages". Please bid if you feel comfortable. I am disclosing 100% of my knowledge on this. The car has been stored and it might be something minor or major.
