Vehicle Detail
HISTORY: I purchased this cycle last year from an older gentlemen who took great care of it! He had to sale because the cycle was to heavy for him to handle. He took meticulous care of it not missing any scheduled maintenance and DID NOT abuse the cycle in any way! I'm certain this cycle DID NOT see speeds over 60MPH and it shows, looks and sounds like new. This cycle looked nice when I purchased but I decided to detail it even further, I have a lot of time invested! I've put roughly 1500 miles on this cycle and it currently has 22,651 but this will go up a little as I take my boys to baseball games. It's a fun ride! PAYMENT: Due within 3 days of auctions end. Cashiers check, money order, personal check, cash and Pay Pal eccepted. Payment must clear before cycle leaves my possession! DO NOT bid if your not wanting to purchase this cycle. ENGINE: Prior to purchasing from the original owner he had the valves adjusted at his local cycle shop. When I purchased the engine ran smooth but missing just a little. I seperated the carbs and closely inspected everything for wear, I then dipped the carbs and blew them out using compressed air. I reused the original jets and needles as they looked great, new orings were installed. I also purchased 4 aftermarket carb rebuild kits that come with the cycle. Floats were inspected and set to the correct height and new bowl gaskets were installed. Carbs were syncronized using a morgan carb tuner and new fuel lines and filter were installed. Cycle now idles smooth and all is good! COSMETICALLY: I sanded the engine side cases using 220, 320, 400, 600, 800, 1200 grit paper and buffed. I installed new engine case gaskets and replaced both the Suzuki and DOHC emblems with new. I purchased new exhaust gaskets as I was going to remove the exhuast and clean areas I couldn't reach, but I no longer have time to accomplish this. The paint has a few chips on the rear tail section but nothing major, overall it's very nice! It has a rear rack that I would prefer to remove, but it does come in handy! I prefer the muscle bike look and the luggage rack doesn't scream muscle to me. The original owner had one of his side cases stolen while at Walmart so it was missing a side cover when I purchased. I got two very nice black ones off ebay and personally I think they look great! The seat is amazing as it truly does look like new, no fading, snags, seperating, nothing! I purchased new handlebars to replace the grandpa style bars it previously had. Overall the chrome is in great condition, not show quality but very nice! The rims have some of the original protective coating coming off but still look nice, the cycle was always stored inside a climate controlled garage. The past year its been in my shed which is not climate controlled but I keep it clean! TIRES / RIMS: The rear tire is ok and should be good for another season, the front tire is weather checked on the side wall but the tread is great. I recently purchased mag rims of Ebay and I was going to put new tires on these and switch them out as I personally prefer mags. BRAKES: They squeek very little, but stop great! I would assume these are the original pads and it is a 33 year old cycle. LIGHTS / ELECTRICAL: The left signal works and beeps as it should, the right signal currently doesn't work. I've yet to replace the bulbs and it could be an easy repair, I may have this problem solved at time of pick up. The brake light, cluster lights, high / low headlight, fuel gauge are all good. The signal light lenses are not cracked and look great. I have set a low reserve on this cycle and its well worth it! I need to sale to fund other projects and the wifey would prefer a more comfortable ride so she can tag along. I have nothing to hide in regards to this cycle if your in the area please feel free to come and take a look before auctions end. The cycle comes with a sweet poster that is made of tough material. It also comes with 3 oil filters, original owners manual, exhaust gaskets, blue side cover, GS mag rims and a clear title in my name. Bid with confidence as you are getting a nice cycle! Please feel free to ask questions and if you'd like photos of something specific please let me know.
