Hi, I am selling my 1971 Ford F250 4x4 Highboy truck. It has power steering and power brakes! It has a 390FE motor that was rebuilt about 20k miles ago. It starts and runs the carb has a slight hessitation occasionally off idle but dosent effect driveability. The engine has good oil pressure no abnormal noises and doesent smoke or burn oil, it is a tight motor. It has a t18 4-speed trans that shifts good and also dosent make any abnormal noises the clutch does shake a little when first taking off but is not noticable whel shifting gears and dosent slip. The 4x4 works good, it has newer lockout hubs up front and new brake shoes and hardware as well as all brake lines. They are 4 wheel drums. The power steering is a chevy gear box as the original power assist was a poor design, this thing steers great! has just been repainted shanadoah green with PPG single stage enamel. There was never any rust anywhere on the body other that the bottom edges of the hood. The doors, cab corners, inside of bed bed seam, cab cowel and lowers of front fenders were all rust free prior to painting. That being said, the body is not perfect, there are lots of little dings and not perfect body work on the doors it is a little wavy but overall looks very presentable and would make a good driver/ mud/pull truck certianly not a show truck. The interior was also repainted to match and the seat was just recovered and it has new carpet. There are some cracks in the dash pad. The wipers work, the heater works, gas gage works, oil pressure works, all lights work except the brake lights the switch is not hooked up maby just needs a new one. The speedo needs a cable as it is removed thus it does not work currently. The blinkers work but the switch dosent self cancel, common with these trucks. It has a tilt steering colum from a f100 Ranger of the same vintage. All the windows were removed for painting so it has all new window rubber including the door glass anti-rattlers. It also has new taillights and 1972 grille inserts (i liked the look better). It has true dual exhaust with glass packs and sounds good not too loud. The wheels are 15x10" aluminum slots and are in good shape. It has vintage Firestone 33x12.5x15 mud tires on it, they dont have the best tread and are bias ply so they track a bit on the groves in the road and are noisy but look kinda cool so I left them. Overall, it is a sharp looking Ford and these Highboys are getting harder to come by with no rust will make someone a nice vintage driver. There are some minor issues with it but I am not asking $10,000 for it either, I think it will be hard to find a nicer one for my reserve. I will not ship the truck ALL shipping arrangements must be made by the winning bidder, I will make sure I am arround to meet and assist with loading if shipping is planned.
