RARE, Gorgeous 1970 VW Type II Westfalia Campmobile Poptop Bus RARE unmolested 1970 VW Type II Westfalia Campmobile Poptop Bus w/ Bench Seat If you have wanted an air-cooled VW camper bus…this is IT! This bus is clean and solid inside and out and in absolutely beautiful condition. Mileage: 77,285. You can’t go wrong with this one!!! This bus has been in heated storage until two weeks ago, and was obviously loved by it’s past owners. This 4 cylinder runs great with no issues! This is too beautiful to be your daily driver…it’s a collectible! This is a rare one with the bench seat up front and the 2-burner propane stove and sink right behind it. Originally, this model was never released to be sold in the U.S. and this bus has most of the original gear intact! We flew to Arizona two years ago (where it had just been overhauled and repainted at a car dealership) to purchase this, and drove it across the Arizona desert and up the California, Oregon and Washington coast. It was fabulous with no problems or issues! We have felt so fortunate to purchase such a great bus. We bought this so we could home-school our daughter while driving around Washington State and it served us so well for the year. It pulled like a champ up and over all of the highest of the west coast’s mountain passes. We very much enjoyed the pace that a vintage VW bus offers, and being able to stop and camp anywhere we wanted. We are selling the bus because our daughter is now learning photography…time to buy a camera. This is a rare, pop-top camper in beautiful condition with the full bench seat up front (three new seat belts) and two seat belts in back. Includes sink with closet underneath for two water storage bladders, and 2-burner propane stove with storage for propane in closet below (next to water storage). Body is in beautiful condition with new paint two years ago. Original bumpers have been completely redone and look brand new. It has the 110 hookup so you can plug in where there is electricity (also has European power outlets in it). Brand new seal around poptop. Window seals are great, doors and windows all work perfectly, horn works great, new brakes, nice seats with no tears, new tires, new batteries. Sleeps two in fold down back seat…this bus stows the spare tire up front instead of in the back, so you have extra sleeping space! Sleeps another (smaller person) up in the pop-top cot, and another person in the hammock that hangs over front seat (my daughter loves to curl up in the front hammock and she is 5’7” tall). Beautiful dashboard. Original flooring in great shape. Overall, this bus is in incredible condition! Double batteries (both new)...one to run interior lights while camping. Engine runs great...has been well maintained. I have all paperwork. Two new cigarette lighters in front for cell phones. Back seats are nicely covered in brown fabric with no rips or tears. Time for a road trip with this one – it’s ready to roll! It’s your turn to have a blast in this vintage bus. It comes with chairs and accessories…just toss your sleeping bags in and go!
