Vehicle Detail
1969 Chevy Camaro Coupe 250, Extra Nice, with original owner's manual and build sheet Man it's a nice one. Lots of mojo. Near original (N.I. trans and wheels) with excellent body and panel fit. Color: Ralley Green. I'm selling it for my internet challenged friend Richard. The write up below is my independent evaluation unless otherwise stated. Mileage: 105,000 miles Engine: Straight 6cyl 250ci 1bbl Carb VIN: 123379n595086 Tires/wheels: Firestone FR380/Firebird wheels PA State Inspection: expires November 2011 Title: In hand. No liens. Good stuff: It's complete, inspected, and running well. In 1970, second owner purchased this car for pleasure driving. Richard has owned it since 1986, driving it only in good weather. The body is extra clean and straight. $6000 prep/paint work in 2005, including new rear quarters and inner wheelhouse panels. Original floor and trunk pans and rocker panels. Factory Ralley Green, with clear coat. Excellent finish. I couldn't see any dents or waves. It's straight. Even the rocker panels and parts below the bumpers have been redone to a high standard. The photos tell the story. Has the optional fold down rear seat. Has the optional rear defogger (motor not working, one hanging wire). The seats, carpets, and door panels are original. No tears or holes that I could see. Pretty darn nice.. See the photos. The doors and trunk shut firmly with no rattles. New seals, weather stripping, and window felt. Radiator was re-cored last year. Trunk floor has minor surface rust in spots (see photos). The engine is fine. It's the original unrestored 250ci straight six. It runs smoothly, with no fluid or oil leaks. It's not a tire burner that's for sure but it pulls the car along and it's been cared for. No shimmy or vibration on the road. I didn't see any smoke. Has had the valve seals replaced. It's been driven at least 20 miles once a month or so to keep it running well. Hence the low mileage. The engine bay isn't pretty - all stock. See my photos. The 3sp auto transmission (automatic) is strong. It shifts crisply. Brakes - good. Tires...good! Mostly they look new. The speedometer, odometer, vent controls and fan, wipers and lights all work. Has an optional rear window defogger (but it's not running). The headliner has no tears or holes. Bad Stuff: The interior smells musty. It's got the wrong wheels. They are from a Firebird. The transmission isn't original. It had a 3 speed manual column shift but that was replaced by the second owner with the Turbo Hydromatic 3sp automatic. An original floor shifter opening and the clutch pedal are still there in case you want to put the manual back in. Some of the original column linkage is still there. The wiper switch has been relocated under the dash (see photo detail). The radio doesn't work. Has original am radio. The antenna was lost. Rust report: There is minor surface rust at the driver's door sill (see photo detail). There is rust under the windshield bottom right (it doesn't extend to the exterior bodywork). You can't see it in the photos. It's on the forward dash panel under the glass. The bumpers are original but they have minor pitting (see close up photo). The shifter shroud is loose. By shroud I mean the part that covers the base of the shifter. The column mount starter switch isn't working. To start the car you turn the switch on and then throw a second switch (aftermarket). The suspension bushings are old and stiff. Probably the original bushings. Drive Train Condition: On a scale of poor/fair/good/excellent it's in the good range overall. Cosmetic Condition: On a scale of poor/fair/good/excellent the body is in excellent condition, the under body is good. Payment: $500 paypal deposit within 24 hours. Full payment within 7 days. Cash or Bank Check (not personal check) upon pick up. Shipping: No shipping. Pick it up and drive it home. I live in State College Pa 16803.
