Here is an exceptionally nice, 1956 Chevrolet Two-Ten (Townsman) Station Wagon that has spent most, if not all of it's life in sunny and dry Arizona and it shows! This was Chevrolet's mid-range model line for the year and was the second year of the tri-five Chevrolets that everyone covets and yearns to own! This is a fine example that has been in an elderly couple's hands right here in sunny Scottsdale, AZ for most of the past 20 years and now it is ready for someone else to enjoy! It was the wife's everyday driver for many years and she always enjoyed all the attention she would get when she stopped at the grocery store or gas station! In the interest of full disclosure, I will mention that there are a few small to tiny blisters under the paint on each rocker panel and on one fender. That is the full extent of anything resembling a rust issue and this, by no means, detracts from the value of this Classic Chevy! All the sheet metal appears to be original to this car and there is no sign of any prior accident history. The underside is untouched original and is rock solid and totally rust free! There are no patches or replaced panels and no attempts to hide or cover anything up. It still retains it's original and very appealing color combination of India Ivory and Sherwood Green with the Green and Beige interior. The paint, while very usable and respectable as it is, really needs and deserves a gorgeous new paint job at some point. It is shiny and looks great driving down the street, but is getting thin in spots and has a few nicks and small dents and age is becoming an issue. The chrome and trim is exceptionally nice and is a combination of very nice and decent original. There are a couple glass cracks and I have a strong lead on the left quarter glass that I will pass on to the new owner. The grill appears to be in very nice condition. Upon close inspection, this car has all the appearances of an unmolested and fairly well cared for car its' entire life! The interior of this Classy Chevy is equally as nice as the outside! It appears to be fairly original and again while very useable as is, would definitely eventually benefit from a new interior kit someday. Other than the obvious wear on the door panels and headliner, the rest of it is actually in rather nice condition. The gauges are clean and bright and appear to work as they should including the horn, wipers and blower motor. The heater core is disconnected. The after-market AM FM radio works great! The paint on the dash and trim is quite nice. The tailgate and rear window lid work as they should! Mechanically, this is a very nice running and driving car and it is a Blast to drive! I was told that the original engine that is still in the car has only a few thousand miles on a complete rebuild and it runs smooth and quiet and has a lot of power. The transmission shifts as it should, the clutch feels strong and the exhaust is in good shape. The brakes stop fine and the rear end is quiet. One of the tires is new and the others have good tread. The shocks look fairly new and it is evident that the front suspension has been rebuilt. This classic Chevy is truly a pleasure to drive and should be able to be driven any place you want to go! It is currently titled and registered in the state of Arizona and is currently located in sunny Scottsdale, Arizona.
