I have a 1998 Dodge long bed with the 12 valve turbo diesel cummins, auto transmission, this is the last year they put the legendary 12-valve in the dodge, and the ONLY year they had it in the quad cab. It has a 40 gallon heated fuel tank in the bed, it has a grease car conversion kit for burning used oil (wvo, umo) It also has an awesome FASS fuel pump designed to pump the thicker hotter (180 degree) fuel. I always filter the used oil to 1 micron, so it is cleaner than the diesel you get at the store. Not to mention, it is free fuel, so it saves a lot of money. It is also better for your engine, as the ultra-low sulfer diesel that the gov. recently mandated is extremely dry and not lubricative enough for your injectors and engine. If you did want to use the regular diesel only, the tank in the back would be ideal for filling up when fuel is at a cheaper price to save some money that way. The truck does have a dent behind the right rear tire, some scratches, and some hail dents on the hood. You may want to buy some new or used fender flares, you can tell where it used to have some. I painted some flares on one side(non-professionally) and didn't get around to the other side. I think the paint could be easily removed, but it would be simplest just to cover it all up with some real flares. The hail storm also broke the wind deflectors, but they only $20 a piece to replace. The cup holder is grey instead of tan, but you can buy interior car paint the right color for about $10. With its custom head lights, newer style dodge ram wheel caps, and chrome along the sides, they give it a great look. It has Nitto Terra Grappler tires that have about 50% tread left. It also has a clean smoke-free interior! It has some leaks, what old pickup doesn't? But it does NOT have any blowby. The fuel gage for the main tank does not work, but the fuel gage for the rear tank works. It has never been turned up, the only modification I have done to it is to put on a straight pipe. My family took it on a 1000 mile roud trip last month on vacation, it is a dependable great motor. It has been my only car for the past year. 262,750 miles. It has a clear title in my name.
